Dibs to TFL before I start putting this up in other places.
Out of the recent series of 5/5 failed gambles-purchases this is by far the saddest one.
I've dreamt of a MOTO/MOTOR engineer pair for years now, even before joining TFL.
And I finally got one! In my size! And it still does not work for my feet.
My loss is your gain as they say - catch and release.
Hopefully this gorgeous pair will make someone very happy.
These are no joke for a pair of "dress engineers" - very thick, stiff and beefy.
Some fantastic clicking by MOTO on these - every single panel is a work of art.

Size : 9
Leather : Natural horween CXL
Lined : Yes, veg tan lining
Width : ~D
Hardware: aged (naturally?) brass
Sole : Midsole + leather V-bar outsole
Condition : 9/10 - very minimal wear on the heels, some rolls on the shafts, no imprint on the insole, no scuffs, dents or nicks.
Height : 11" - tall boys!

Price : Let's start at 500, negotiable
Location: Estonia (EU)
Shipping: ~20-30eu (the package weight was 3,5kg!)

Photos from the listing, I'll take some of mine when the lighting is better, but overall they are representative.

Would these fit a 10D brannock?

What’s your brannock, and what about them doesn’t work for your feet?

Thanks!

I'm a 9.5-10 C-D brannock. I've worn a lot of 8.5D Red Wing boots but eventually understood that 9D works better for me. White's boots in 9D fit me great.

For these to fit me they would need to have a slightly more closely fitting heel, waist and instep as well as a wider toe box. The toe box is the main culprit I'd say, but I'm very much into barefoot wide-toe-box footwear so 90% of footwear "does not fit me" in the toe box these days. These fit OK in the toe box for me, but I'm too picky and find it not roomy enough in that area.

But obviously everyone's feet and preferences are different, these are just my thoughts in relation to my specific feet. And obviously engineer boots are notoriously hard to fit so MOTO/MOTOR engineers are off my list forever most likely.

But hopefully someone else can enjoy them!

I don't think these are their dress engineers model, maybe their standard engineer model, the dress engineers have fudging and a different last pattern also looks different to my pair.

You may be right. I don't know enough about MOTOR engineer boot variety, just thought that they only do "dress engineers" with different variations in terms of leather and sole. Never noticed the fudging on any of their boots, but I don't tend to spot such details. Can you share some pictures of your pair? If they do different lasts then there might be hope for me after all.

Here’s my dress engineers For comparison. I think the last may be different than yours.

I believe yours are the Engineer boot 3rd model or one in that series. Compared to the dress engineer I notice that the last seems roomier and more like a Red Wing engineer in terms of shape. The stitching on the strap is in a "D" shape rather than the triangle. The top part has a leather layer folded over the outside rather than being tucked. Depending on what doesn't fit you on this pair, the dress engineer may work for you. They are the only engineer I have worn thus far that work for my feet

The dress engineer has a sleeker appearance, uses only italian horsebutt save for their special models from their events (I think the standard model engineer is often made with CXL) and has the aforementioned fudging on the welt. Slightly shorter and slimmer in the shaft as well so it fits under more pants that other boots I tried do not.

Here is a reference I found from their Instagram.

Thanks for sharing! I do feel like the lasts are the same or at least very similar in the vamp/toe area in terms of how (un)anatomical they are. But perhaps the instep and waist of your model/variation is lower which would help me a lot.

@Jasonissm
Thanks for the info and the details as well!
I've also heard that there were at least 3 iterations from here:
https://www.grailed.com/listings/27...oto-motor-natural-cxl-engineer-boot-3rd-model
"Based on the engineer boots of the 1st model called MOTOR's masterpiece,
the 3rd model that has evolved to the most basic and most orthodox has appeared."
"The height is lower than the 1st model, and it is the same length as the 2nd model. The form is the same last EE wise setting as 1st. "
But otherwise very hard to find info on this stuff in English.
I think this is the 1st taller model (because it is very tall) also because of the 1001 model naming.
I've had a 2990 pair of Red Wings in 8.5D and it did fit a bit similar to this just shorter. Also didn't work for me for similar reasons. I guess a 2990 in 9D would be quite similar to how these fit.
Maybe the dress ones would fit better, but I'm making a pause with engineer gambling for the foreseeable future as my last 3 engineer boots were failed gambles. Now all my bets are on Willie fixing the pair he sent me, but that has been stuck in Philippines customs for over 10 days now and they are having some long national holiday.

All I can say is WOW. Nicest boots I’ve seen so far. That brown really talks to me. But alas, out of my price range Wow
Thanks for the positive comment. I have to agree with you - I was blown away when I received these, especially by the shaft of the boots - the rolls and the patina on the back side.
Save up a bit and let me know if you're interested, you don't see many of these around in this condition.

If you are still keen to buy a pair of Moto - keep an eye out at Take5 Taiwan. That’s where I bought mine, the new version (1004) I believe is a E width and not made by the same last as yours.
I am a brannock 9 and the size 8 fits like gloves(somehow the right boot is slightly tighter)

Looking at the pic you posted, yours the 1001 engineer, first version I believe.

Off topic a bit… I went to their shop last year and they’ve got a pair of aging sample in the stop!
They also told me that they’ve got some stock on hand(size 9 was available I believe, if you do hop by Tokyo soon wouldn’t hurt to pay them a visit)

Even if the last is wider the boots won't work for me based on the instep height (unless that is lowered as well with the new last).
Yes my pair is the 1001.
Would love to see your pair as well!

That’s a bummer, Moto boots are amazing! The guys at the shops are very cool too, will definitely be visiting them again next time when I’m there.

Oh man I would love to visit their shop. Only dealing I have had with them is by email and they have never disappointed me. I have their engineer and looks somewhat like the sample in their shop. Anyways highly recommended this brand, very good products, for reference, you can see a picture of two year-old boots I’ve been wearing fairly regularly.
