Yet another amazing, sunny day here. I donned a Hawaiian shirt and the Falcon Park silverbelly rabbit fedora with some cool ribbon work to run errands and - ugh - pay bills.

Pretty sweet, Tuk! How does the Falcon Parks compare to the Gannons? They both look class A.

Thanks D. The coat really wasn't wanting to show up in photos today. It was another find from the vintage store today.

Goes well with the hat. Both are sort of chocolate brown. The hat is very smooth, the coat is very rough.

I think it has some mohair in it. 3 button fly front. No idea how old, but I think 50s at the newest.

Nice attic find. Wish I had an attic like that. Great outfit today, too.

Thanks, That coat was a great find. I like the way the collar and lapels look. Does look good with the hat.

Thanks!

It's a well made hat, to be sure, but it is made with rabbit felt and my Gannons are made with beaver so comparisons on the felt wouldn't be fair. The rabbit is thicker, coarser and the front brim doesn't hold shape quite as well.

I also got this one 2nd hand from a FL'r a year or so ago, but it's still in very nice shape. I love the colorway on it, too, so I enjoy having it in my collection.

Thanks. I like the products I see from both hat makers, so I guess I'll have to place a couple of orders at some point and time.

You might check with @bowlerman about his opinion as I believe he has a hat or two from Falcon Park.

I have to go with my Gannons personally, but they were custom made for me and have pure beaver felt so the comparison really isn't fair. My natural Gannon especially floats my boat. The pouncing is excellent and it has a great, velvety hand to the felt.

The B-Day is tomorrow 49 to be honest and clear. I feel like a million bucks...only a few grays at the temples.
Happy to post a recent Etsy find . Been wanting one of these but a good quality one and this is it @ $130. I am a 7 1/2 60cm this fits a little snug. He only sells up to L 23.5cm. Hoping because it is leather it stretches out ? I would like another 1/4 inch. Lets hope because I want to buy more of his hats.

Nice leather cap, Sonero. I think in cap making they often sew a twill tape under the head band finish, whatever that is made out of. Twill tape has very little stretch in it, so it keeps the cap to the stated size.

Happy Birthday. Have a great day.

Looks perfectly formed from here. My old Portis, on the other hand, has kinks and bends and absolutely refuses to lose them. But it's soft as a puppy's ear, so I cut it some slack. And that reminds me, it's about time to throw it on my head for a day. Soon.

Doesn't look beat from this angle, moe.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.

Thanks guys!
I guess "beater" is a relative term...a big part of it is the fact that the liner is gone and the sweat is somewhat worn in. The outside does still show nicely. :)
