Much too rare: i like it very much, John. Could almost be a straw homburg.Hey all!
The Dobbs "Sunbrero" makes a rare appearance on a hot and muggy day on the NorCal coast.
Have a great day!

Just fantastic, Garrett.
Homburgs and pencil rolls explained in a nutshell. The illustrations are magnificent!A homburg is a particular style constructed to present with the brim curled upwards, similar to but less defined than the d'orsay curl of the derby/bowler.

Most fedoras can be worn with the brim up all around or snapped down in the front. I am partial to wearing many hats with the brim up - others prefer a downward swoop.

A pencil rolled brim is something else - a tight roll of a raw brim edge, usually seen on a western hat.

Hope the pictures help!
A commanding hat, Steve. That one takes no prisoners!Decided to wear my Imperial Stetson for a trip to the big city (Copenhagen) this evening.

She chose the Stetson.
Stellar hat, Jack. Love it.
Thanks, Stefan. One of my finds over the summer. I'm rather pleased with it [emoji4]A commanding hat, Steve. That one takes no prisoners!

Yardtrimming in a Stetson flagship? That could be considered decadent, Eric. Outstanding hats, both.Afternoon yard trimming was done in a blue mood.
I ran over for some newly roasted coffee. Coffee first, other things next. A Stetson Fifteen was my charcoal hat choice.
Best, Eric -
A mighty fine quadruplet of hats there, Stefan. It has been pointed out to me that I don't seem to wear many thin-ribboned hats. Guilty as charged (don't know why)
, but I do have some.

Morning yard duty in a sloped cattleman (mini-gus). Morning yard duty is a cup of coffee with a little bit o Irish. Pup pup and I walk Gods little half acre seeing what critters may have dug up or tipped over, refill the bird baths and feeders for all the wildlife that visits during the evening. Check on the foliage and maybe pull a few weeds, then sit under the Palapa for a spell and enjoy the morning coolness. That's no problem, thin ribbons are nice on more western style hats, however the hats you have are awesome with the larger ribbons and would look odd with thin ribbons. IMHOIt has been pointed out to me that I don't seem to wear many thin-ribboned hats. Guilty as charged (don't know why)
, but I do have some.
