The Borsalino needed no stretching, cleaning, steam, or anything, Stefan. Seems brand-new. Just put some Pecatd's antique leather conditioner on the sweatband.

I switched to my new Cavanagh this afternoon. This one didn't need anything either. Thanks, Greg!

Well if you have to take off the Borsalino, might as well replace it with this one. A mighty fine hat indeed, max.

LOL. What a maroon. I suppose every factory hat, represented as mint with no flaws actually did come with a sweatband.

You want a pic of my Disney hat to send him?

Tell him "Guess what? No one had to pay extra for that. It came standard, as it did for EVERY fur felt hat Disney (or Stetson, Resistol, Knox, Dobbs, Cavanagh, etc, etc, etc) ever sold.

.
Thanks for that info, much appreciated. Ken

Thanks Stefan. I'm not too sure about that ribbon either, but it's sort of growing on me. I am a child of the era.

Thanks Stefan. Certainly one of my favorites. If I could come up with about 5 color variations of this one I'd be tempted to quit looking for more hats.

Thanks.

I decided I had to ride to the store so I put on this Filson hat

And a Filson double mac with some German leather foul weather pants. They all worked well.

I was dry when I got home, after an hour or so of riding in the rain.

Thanks,
Michael
Awesome outfit Michael, what size coat you wearing these days, I may have something right up your alley. ;)

Well, since almost everyone else seems to have bypassed your post... :D

First, welcome to The Lounge! Don't let the lack of response fool you--we're a friendly, fun, and passionate bunch, and the collective knowledge about "The Golden Era" here is unsurpassed.

That said, you're obviously aware that ball caps aren't a favorite around here. Some members have expressed their dislike of them with extreme prejudice, others simply don't care for them, and some have little or no opinions one way or the other. And then there are those of us for whom they're a "dirty little secret" of sorts around here; we wear 'em, but really don't advertise the fact. Still, there is at least one thread here on The Lounge where we're "allowed" to openly display and discuss ball caps: Baseball Caps (in moderation)?, and you might want to post your cap again there where the atmosphere is a bit more "ball cap friendly". ;)

Oh gawd, just shoot me now... We are in full remodel mode on our house. The wife is decision challenged at best, and we are off to the "big city" to pick out tile and appliances. I just follow behind and agree...
A good hat for this project is the NW Hats Brent OR Clone refurb. Mike cut the brim width down just a bit to get rid of some moth nibbles and put a whip stitch on for good measure. I can gaze at this detail while nodding in approval of all the different tile choices.

Great looking hat, Mike. Love the whip-stiching.
