Ah! The old Rosebud in cognac no less. One heck of a plastic hat, Jonsey.

Envy is a terrible sin, but I'm not ashamed to say the green eyed monster has risen it's ugly head over the last few days looking at all the wonderful hats you guys have been wearing and posting. My envy is a sign of admiration. I doff my humble cap to you all.
"Luckily" it was coldish enough for me to don this 1950s Battersby Homburg on my evening walk this evening.
I love the fact that it was made in Manchester, sold in Finland, found it's way to Holland (Stefan), and finally ended up in its rightful home here with me in Elsinore, Denmark [emoji4].

That is a very nice hat. Is it a Cuenca? What are the specs.? I'm talking to Mike about one of those, and looking for some direction.
Peace!
Mike will remember this hat. It's a Grade 12 Cuenca with about 400 WPSI weave. I brought the body back from Cuenca, Ecuador, and had Mike make it into a fine fedora. It's only about a 2-1/2" brim with a teardrop crease and a great rake from front to back. Very light and fun to wear. The crown as blocked is right at 4-1/4"

The tight weave is not super for very hot days as airflow is very low. A loose weave or - my favorite - a semi calado (ventilated pattern) weave is best for super hot days... like having an a/c unit on your head.

Thanks for the tips!

Mike said that he has grade 8 brisas from Cuenca that would work for the wide brim, high crown hat I have in mind. I would be psyched if he had a big semi calado, I’ll ask.

Thanks again!

Peace.

Mike made this for me a couple of months ago. The brim is 2 3/4”. Crown is 4 1/4” at the front and 3 5/8” at the back. Don’t know what it would be open.

Hang in there, Red! The cortisone shots may give you some relief. It helped me.
Great looking band on that straw. It makes a big splash!

Thanks Reggie, I get some great results in my shoulder with them. I just have to wait for the insurance to approve them. Suffering in silence. I got that pug at Mike Millers in Eugene. He as even wilder ones.

I selected the perfect body (semi-colado) when I was down there last week. He has some outstanding bodies to choose from right now. He has a connection in Ecuador (shhhhh a secret) and has some more coming as well.

Great color on this one Jim. A simple center crease, and a back bow to boot. Love it.

Addendum

(I like to think that last shot is how I look when I tell them the monkey business stops now!)

Venturing out for a production meeting for the next play I'm doing. It is coming up real quick, they will be rehearsing all summer. We are the first community theater in our area to be doing Mama Mia! Music throughout from Abba. Most of the kids auditioning weren't even born when we were digging this music! Feeling quite summery this morning, pain level is low. Wearing my Homero Ortega (Via Doug!) "Ben Affleck" special. Wild hat with a wilder plug. It used to make Bob puke, a claim to fame!

Super hat, Mike, with one way cool ribbon. Your shirt is pretty funky, too.
Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better today.
