Good to see you posting semi-regularly, Mike. Hope you are responsive to treatment. We're all pulling for you.

Still stormy and on the coolish side here. Many are still recovering from the 17-18? twisters on Monday. Thank goodness we were spared.

I'm under my Mallory Commander today.

Today....Alan’s post about never forgetting one’s first Borsalino was spot on. This is my first real Borsalino in Featherweight form and it certainly is. I recall the elation that i finally had one. It was top dog...for awhile. Lol
Be well. Bowen
These are one special Borsalino model for sure. I am in love with the one I got from Anthony. Different ribbon configuration, but very similar.

Thanks Mike. It’s good to hear your voice again. Always a kind kudo from the Fokker!
I recall how elevated my hatitude was when i got this one. I waited for people to run up and ask about how awesome it was, being a total newby, so i could say “ It’s a Borsalino”. But i’m no doubt the only person who ever felt that way. Ha
Boy i’m suprised it still fits that big head! Lol
Get well Mike!!

Greetings All:
Today...it’s a latent Lobbia i’ve let languish.
A departure from my usual as i find getting used to this style difficult. So i’ll start with a little Lobbia in Amiata of unknown vintage.
Be well. Bowen
Ps: as always many thanks for all the kind words you all share so often.

I hardly recognized you. Unusual, for you, hat style, different background, and you’re all trimmed up. Perchance, do you have a date?

That moment when you're sitting on a fastball and the pitcher drops a 12-6 curve. You're knees turn to jello and you're left thinking, "What the heck just happened?" as you walk back to the dugout. This...this right here.

The jazzy, hipster look is a good one for you B! :)

You are an inspiration, I'll be digging out my straws today for the season. I have been missing the hat parade, getting myself back into the fold.
Thanks Red. Good to see you back a bit more often.

Well, I heard back from my doctor about my MRI. Back is hamburger. He used a lot of big words about my discs in my lower back, but all I remember is "moderate to severe". We are going to try injections of cortisone (no fun I'm sure) as opposed to surgery. I have been totally worthless since February, constant pain, no sleep. It has been hard to function on just a couple hours of sleep every night for 4 months.

Going out today in the sunshine to pick up some prescriptions. My easiest straw to get my hands on was my Cappas Bogart. It will be nice around here for a week or so. Better get my winter hats into storage and break out the straw collection.

Went to see Mike Miller yesterday, I have some photography to do. And, I'm looking forward to my newest commission of a really special straw! (more on that later) I have been out of the loop tooooooo long!

I like that paisley pug. Hope the shots help your back. My sister has them done for her finger joints and she says they help her a lot.

An OR of the Royal Deluxe flavor this morning.

Off to do a little more Arts Festing today. Watched the Solera String Quartet plus drummer and vocalist do the Dark Side of the Moon album last night. Very cool.
Have a great Saturday,

Very European. Dutch, maybe?

I have been enjoying your recent looks on Facebook Justin. This suit and Stetson combination is just aces. Lapels for miles.

Scala “Panama”.
This one looks like a good old workhorse straw. Your beaded hatbands turn even the most mundane hat into something special.

This is a really "casual" dress hat. I like the smaller dimensions (stingy berg?). I have a couple like this and wear them often with jeans and golf shirts. Lovely color too. I dig it Bowen.

Resistol X Double X. An OR clone but not marked San Antonio or anything else.

Brent, I have missed your collection. I have noticed some offerings on Ebay, are you finally getting a handle on your addiction? I need to follow your example. The brim is less than most OR styles I have seen. Maybe since it does not have the San Antonio label it was at a lower price point in the day?

Thanks Red. Good to see you back a bit more often.

Great look to be out in the crowds in. This OR is more like I associate with the style as opposed to Brent's above. I am hoping the shots will have the same success on my back as I get with my shoulder. Instant relief there, for a long period of time, or at least until I do something stupid...

Keith Lo Bue's "Le Mans" today.

I really like the high end caps from this maker. The leather on this one really excites me, I need one for a grab and go cap during cooler times. Very nice Max.

It’s good to have you back, Mike. I’m buying and selling and slowly refining my collection to just those hats I truly like. Eventually, I’m considering a “buy-a-hat-sell-a-hat” philosophy.

Today’s Resistol has a full 2 3/4” brim. The flange/bumpers along with my head size makes it look smaller. I think this was made after the Byer-Rolnick period; it’s a decent hat, but not as nice as the older ones. I’m actually a big fan of the various styles in the X Double X line.
