Doc, these caps you’ve been posting lately are the bomb, you’ve really got the styling, hip look going on. You look so much younger, thinner, sophisticated, handsome, richer, smarter, taller in them...muy el Ricco Suave. So you should probably not buy any more vintage felts and just concentrate on the cap fashion statement...just saying.:):D

Well, I heard back from my doctor about my MRI. Back is hamburger. He used a lot of big words about my discs in my lower back, but all I remember is "moderate to severe". We are going to try injections of cortisone (no fun I'm sure) as opposed to surgery. I have been totally worthless since February, constant pain, no sleep. It has been hard to function on just a couple hours of sleep every night for 4 months.

Going out today in the sunshine to pick up some prescriptions. My easiest straw to get my hands on was my Cappas Bogart. It will be nice around here for a week or so. Better get my winter hats into storage and break out the straw collection.

Went to see Mike Miller yesterday, I have some photography to do. And, I'm looking forward to my newest commission of a really special straw! (more on that later) I have been out of the loop tooooooo long!

Hang in there, Red! The cortisone shots may give you some relief. It helped me.
Great looking band on that straw. It makes a big splash!

Envy is a terrible sin, but I'm not ashamed to say the green eyed monster has risen it's ugly head over the last few days looking at all the wonderful hats you guys have been wearing and posting. My envy is a sign of admiration. I doff my humble cap to you all.
"Luckily" it was coldish enough for me to don this 1950s Battersby Homburg on my evening walk this evening.
I love the fact that it was made in Manchester, sold in Finland, found it's way to Holland (Stefan), and finally ended up in its rightful home here with me in Elsinore, Denmark [emoji4].

Now that is a regal homburg! Very distinguished. I love the crown and brim curl.

Wonderful! An exceptional example of a classic European fedora. The color, shape, ribbon and brim binding are perfect. And you know I like the feather accent. It’s the cherry on top.

Today...it’s a latent Lobbia i’ve let languish.
A departure from my usual as i find getting used to this style difficult. So i’ll start with a little Lobbia in Amiata of unknown vintage.
Be well. Bowen
Ps: as always many thanks for all the kind words you all share so often.

Good looking hommie, B! You could pull it off. I can see you in it. Stretch out a little. That hat is too pretty to stay in the box.

Stumbling around today in this old crusty, worn Resistol Beaver Twenty Five. A typical shade of "silverbelly" for Resistol at the time. Verdigris ate through the brim at the ferrule and destroyed the ribbon and wind cord. A pic to Scott remedied that. The original ribbon matched the binding but Scott landed on a contrasting ribbon that picked up the green hues these felts have and I like it. Subtle contrast is good. I had a pristine model in a late 50-early 60's hat that I sold. Just not the same.

Good looking hat, Greg. The brim seems a little shorter than some of you other ORs? Maybe an illusion, but with the tall crown to brim width the hat has a real crisp appearance.
