Curiously I too was perusing much the same thing. Your rare hats are the inspiration of a true artisan, how well you wear them. But should it be kept away like a work of art? Don't take that as a criticism, I'm just thinking out loud. Bob Ruby is someone that I knew but had never met, just like all the other Loungers, but his passing felt the same as the news, that my next door neighbour at my last address, had died a few days ago. It is so sad, but it also underlines our own mortality.Greetings All:
Today....i’ve been reflecting on several things. Moms, gone and present. Children, blessings beyond words. The passing of friends from long ago and newfound, such as here in the Lounge Family.
Things left unsaid and undone.
Why do i have hats i don’t wear because i feel they are too valuable, rare or pristine. Then the bell rings all to soon and they are just hats in a box.
So, to that, today...one i wouldn’t wear but today i will so as not to go hoarded and unappreciated before the bell rings closer to home.
A Berteil of Paris, in very dark blue, where G. Borsalino learned his trade as a young man. An exquisite example on all fronts, old and grand.
I hope Bob (RJR) would give it a +1.
Be well. Bowen
So I'm glad that your precious hats saw daylight today, and I know they got a +1. And for the same reason my old MG does not stay hibernating in the garage just waiting for the day that the sun has got his hat on. We went out to lunch at a rather quaint ye olde worlde place that a couple we know have bought. A rather good lunch it was too, and as I was driving, my liquid refreshment was no more than H2O but on our return, I opened a bottle of Merlot and enjoyed a glass of that. Then after learning of Bob's passing, I raised my glass to him. Did he say plus one? I don't know, but just in case, I had a second glass.
