Woke up temps were in the low sixties, so I put on a felt hat for the first time in... awhile.
Kensington, a long-ago trademark of Stetson.

A fine summer straw by Knox, sold from Ryan English shops in Pennsylvania Station. The store was in business from the early days of the train station (completed in 1910) and closed in 1977, years after the original station was torn down. There is a nice piece on the shop and its focus on fitting the man on the move in the August 1919 issue of the American Hatter (available on Google Books).

Today I'm wearing my Miller's Indiana Jones hat that I reshaped to more of a the last crusade look.This was my first expensive indy hat I bought back in the early 2000's so I have had and used it for quiet some time.

I got this beat up old hat off ebay a few days ago for 15.00.
First picture is what I saw in the ad. I saw a brand I hadn't heard of and I also spotted an unreeded sweatband which makes for a great feeling, fitting hat in my opinion. Once I put a little steam to it I think it now looks fairly presentable.
Coney Felt in a Slate Blue/Gray color.
* on some of my other hats there are stampings on the sweatband referring to imported Coney Fur and there is usually an image of a rabbit...so I gotta wonder if this felt is mostly rabbit. Feels good on my head so no big deal, just curious is all.

This hundred year old Mikado is a favorite from my collection of straw hats and perhaps the second most interesting thing to come out of Roswell, New Mexico. It was finished in high execution by the Frank H. Lee company sometime during the 1920s. Lee Hats was founded in 1887 and at its height employed 1500 workers in Danbury, CT. The brand became a part of Stetson Hats around 1960 and the Danbury factory was shuttered in 1964. Stetson's manufacturing plant in Philadelphia closed not long after.
