Eating at "El Fogón", my Dad's restaurant in Acapulco, with my brother Ricardo, his bearded son of the same name, Ana, Sabrina, and Mara Alisa.
Wearing my Optimo Milan straw. I love its golden color.

Can you sense my envy? When is the move? Your Country Club looks great.

After a few weeks of fussing with my Country Club, I took a warm (not hot) iron and a cotton cloth and and reshaped the polypropylene brim. I was afraid I’d melt it but it actually responded great. I love that hat in the summer... and now we’re back to envy.

We have tickets to the only showing of Peter Jackson's (Hobbit director) WWI Movie, "They Shall Not Grow Old". Very excited about seeing this one. He is a WWI Historian as well as a Hollywood Director, this one is right up his alley. Figured a 100 year old stiff felt was the ticket.

I will be very interested to get your take on the movie. I’ve heard great things.

As a WWI Historian, I was mesmerized. Peter Jackson really made a movie for people like us. He chose to zero in on the experience of the regular British soldier in the trenches. He let them tell the story, using existing oral histories from the British Museum. The colorization and 3-D rendering of WWI footage was incredible. I don't know if it will be in your area (the showings are special events, one night only), but you would be touched. A soldier's story is universal. The Great War was truly a horrible 4 years. Jackson did them proud.
