Windsor mark possibly late 1950s and a recent arrival.
Wow, Reggie. That is one supremely nice hat. And I'm liking that jacket a lot as well.Running errands this Saturday and trying to get the feel of this new high crown from Sweden.

Thanks Alan. My eye sees some green in the hat and a bit of bronze in the ribbon, but I can't make the camera see it that way. But it is a nice dark tone, whatever the color.Excellent color on that one
Still can't see the pics, but knowing your collection I can rest assured it's a good one.

That's a real beauty!!!
Sharp, Ross! You look correct under that fine old western. Self perception tells me I wouldn’t be able to pull off those prodigious proportions.Reaching for this one several times a week, today being one of them.

Orvis next door would probably end badly for me. They have/had some very nice items in a clothing way. i have a few of them. Thanks, Michael. The jacket is a goat suede number from Orvis. They opened a store two doors down from my office, so it's always tempting to walk through when they have a sale or when the seasons change. My buddies go there for their flyfishing stuff. I go there for clothes.
That's a real beauty!!!
Good to hear. It is a great looking hat and really looks sharp on youThank's Joe. The hat is very well made. Mikael Einarsson has an artist's flair for hat-making and really appears to take the craft seriously. The stitching, bow work, and attention to detail are evident. The 50x beaver felt is what I would consider medium weight and is certainly malleable as I had to lower the crown some from its original configuration. It has a dimensional brim 2 5/8 front to back and 2 3/8 on the sides and has a nice feel and snap. It's a fun hat.
Wonderful Brent. Peter’s work looks great too.
Thanks, Steve. I'm being a bit unjust towards it, just because it's green It is a fine hat hat though.Yet another wonderful Italian parade, Stefan. I just love the colour and ribbon on the Linea. Not often you see a Borsalino like that.
You wouldn't expect a black hat to brighten up a dark day, but it does. Looking fine, Steve.A very dark, damp, and cold day in my part of the world. To cheer me up, I wore my @Randall Renshaw Adam Majestic conversion with Randall's wonderful bow treatment. Who says black hats are boring?
Have a good weekend folks.

View attachment 281836 50s “Butternut” Strat.
One that I took completely apart this week for a reblock, reflange and rebuild, but able to resew on all the original components.
It’s been re-Strated.
A world of difference in the shape and profile, which is mostly what I was after. Lots of work, but I’m very happy with the results.
2 3/4 brim, 5 5/8 open crown. Fits comfortably. Worth all the trouble. View attachment 281835 View attachment 281832 View attachment 281833 View attachment 281834 View attachment 281831
Very nice, Steve. The ribbon treatment is fantastic on that one.Windsor mark possibly late 1950s and a recent arrival.
The wonderful workings of software...It's a puzzling wrinkle. When I view my post in Google Chrome I see the same reference for the URL - the image does not display in the post. If I click on the icon and select open in a new tab or in a new window, the image displays fine. And it all works as normal in Safari. I'm guessing it's an incompatibility of the Lounge software with Google Chrome on Mac... but who knows. Just another excuse to make the day a little harder than it should be. 8^(
Not something I could wear, but, man, what a hat!Reaching for this one several times a week, today being one of them.

Great colours and proportions, Brent.
Standard features at Stetson - we have come to expect not necessarily. More pics here: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/side-by-side-hat-comparisons.65983/page-29#post-2153720
Very Stetsonian like.
View attachment 282137 Here’s one that I remodeled from a JW Hats 7X Beaver 7 1/8 short and badly tapered crown “Aussie” styled hat that Randy McCamey @Rmccamey gave me.
Said he wished to use this hat as a thank you for sending him an eBay link to a mint 7X CB. He didn’t have to do that, but as y’all know, the Professor is a real good fella.
I’ve turned it into a Strat clone in black. Dyed some dark green 3/8” ribbon using a Sharpie. The vintage pure rayon grosgrain wouldn’t take black Rit dye!
Yes, the sharpie ink may bleed into the felt if it gets wet, just a bit, but hey, it’s a black hat.
2 1/2 bound brim. 5 1/2 open crown.
Threw in one of my new patented sweatbands and an old liner from a Mallory to make for another fine Frankenhat.

No, my sweatband stitching isn’t really patented. But I haven’t seen anyone else doing it and have to wonder why?
Thanks, Joe.
Yeah, wish I took a few before pics.
Randy probably has some photos of it. He gave it to me knowing it would make a good base to build a good hat. He was right.
