Nice to see you hard at work, Max.
It's hard, living in a pandemic, JimNice to see you hard at work, Max.
Very cool Terry. Nice job!Wearing one that I almost threw away. I actually used this hat to experiment on over the past few years and I almost threw it out until I decided to mess around with it and make a clone of an Indy LC hat. The hat body is a Resistol Stagecoach, the sweatband was taken from an O'Farrell, the liner came from a different Stagecoach that I had laying around, and the ribbon and bow has been put on and taken off again from several different hats only to end up on this one. So this is my Stagecoach LC Frankenhat that was pieced together with materials from different hats. I'll have more later in the Conversion Corral. The brim shape on this was hard to nail down because it changed so much throughout the movie. I decided on a brim shape similar to this one...
The crown is tall and straight and somewhat rounded off at the top with a center dent and a high tight pinch.
The side dents are deeper and more elongated than I prefer but more correct for this hat.
The brim is dimensional cut at 2 5/8 front and back and 2 3/8 on the sides, (the LC was the shortest brim width of the Indy hats). In some of the LC scenes
the "cowboy curl" is slightly higher on the bow side. Although in one scene from the movie the curl
was noticeably way higher on the other side.

Looks great, Terry. I like your teardrop creases but it’s nice to see you mixing it up.
How did you give the hat a dimensional brim? I’ve been curious about how this is done...maybe a stencil/pattern?
Thank you buddy! Last Crusade was my favorite too! I like Indy's Raiders hat but I think his LC hat is my favorite.Great work! I just watched Last Crusade the other day, it's my favorite Indy movie.
Richard Swales (who did the Raiders hat at HJ) infamously cut them by hand with scissors!
