Was sad to hear of Jim Kiick passing. I got to meet him.. gosh like 25 or so years ago when we were preparing him and Kim Bokamper for a charity pro wrestling match for the Y-100 Wing Ding a big annual event they used to hold in Hollywood, FLNice hat. I wish I liked Whippets on my head. They don't look right on me.
Go Dolphins. It seems all the ones I grew up with are starting to die off. Poor Jim Kiick. He had a horrible last decade.
Heck of a nice hat Perry
Thanks Joe. I like your hat and upside down Dolphin!Heck of a nice hat Perry
You call that smiling? You should see him after he collects his doctor's fee!He smiles too much.
Always good to see you TJ.You call that smiling? You should see him after he collects his doctor's fee!
Good to see you again, Mb!
Wearing my first Nutria Quality today thanks to Justin @J Williams for tipping me off to it. Incredible hat, don’t think it was ever worn. Not a sign of an old crease anywhere in the open crown. Made it hard for me to even bash it, LOL. Still working on the shape. More in the New Hats thread later.

Even if it is one of your first conversions; as per usual, it looks really great!
Now tell your doctor how to wear a fedora properly.
I may get in trouble on here saying that, but to me, he needs to pull the front down a bit. Just sayin’.
This one isn't me wearing a hat but it's one that I converted sometime way back. Following some advice from a better known hatter I reblocked this one on a 23 inch straight sided block. Well, it ended up being too small. It was a tan Western that I converted to a raw edge thin ribbon fedora. It has a 5 3/4 open crown that's creased to a teardrop, 4 3/4 at the pinch with a rake sloping to 4 inches to the back. The snap brim is 2 5/8 inches wide. Anyway, my doctor likes my conversions. I went to see him the other day over another flare up of back issues again. Since he liked my hats so well I gave him this one and it fit him perfectly. Unfortunately I didn't get before and after pictures of the hat and I don't remember who the maker was. Anyway here's my doctor sporting one of my conversions. He loves it....
Thank you buddy. You are a good man for sharing and your Doc is a good man for wearing!
Yup. Some pushed back, some at a tilt, some sitting level, and some pulled down. Film noir has a lot of variations of hat styles and the different ways people wore them.A lot of the old film stars wore their hats back farther than I do. You can see their faces better when worn back. Old photos show them being worn in all sorts of positions, but like you I have a preferred way to wear them and I involuntarily cringe when I see them worn “wrong.” A bit OCD I guess.
Wegener "Seal" possibly mid 1950s. The felt color and Chamois finish are fantastic. Also a very nice bow design.
Super hat Joe. You need two more to make it a trio!On today to the Musketeer.... maybe this will be a Stetson week.

Looks fantastic Bill.Late posting but yesterday was pretty nice temperature wise in North Texas. It didn't get out of the 70s, was overcast, and rainy. So felt was in order. I have just been waiting to the right circumstances to wear this Borsalino Lontra. This is the first I've worn it since sending it to Mike Miller to shape for me. This hat is so light and soft - it's kinda hard to get rid of the wrinkles.
