I was out in the -6'f (-21 C) weather wearing a 1930 spiral weave fedora. I discovered that this spiral weave is a better warmer weather hat. Brrrr.

thanks!... just wordplay of course. I did get a couple of nods of appreciation from male flight attendants today. My best hat travel hatstory was waiting for a delayed flight to board at Burbank airport outside LA and having a fellow stop and ask me if I was alanfgag. Loungers are lurking everywhere!
I'm not sure I could pronounce alanfgag.

In a moment of weakness last year @Bill Hughes decided to give this Whippet a new home, so I took him up on his offer :)

Woah. Sweet Moses, that’s a fine Whippet, Randy! One day...

Great Whippet Randy!

Another excellent homburg, Daniele. I agree, the dimensions on that one suit you style very well.

Today a tribute to homburg made in France

Chapeau de France size 60 cm.

The hat was made with light and malleable felt

Unlined and with a single patch inside the crown it is probably a hat from the 1940s or 1950s

No paper label determines the felt color or type.
It's one of my favorites for proportions, but it's just a matter of taste

Thanks for your likes on the Borsalino Argento and for the appreciation of the Barbisio find showed yesterday

Best, Eric -
That's a great hat, Eric. Is that a weave, or a stitched detail, like Daniele's green Barbisio?
It's a pretty cool way to vent felt for SUMMER wear. :)

Spiral stitched. The felt is predominately brown and has red/green/blue and other unidentifiable hues. It is very rich hued when it is in your hands. It is stitched from the brim all the way to the crown. Stitching is even and thread pull of the stitching is consistent.

Going to be a Playboy today.
Thank you to all for the likes and compliments on the superhero rendering of our local superhero. Thankfully, for national hat day no one’s hat needed a laser blast from the indomitable Hatman’s umbrella.
Everyone looked great in their celebratorial
lids!
