I don't own one at the moment, but I did find the one Steve now has and this one:

It was called Baldifino. Much nicer felt than the Baldini, but it was too large for me and had a mint green tone to the felt (me and green hats don't go well together), so it had to go.

The Baldini is indeed a very hard felt, not really malleable. I guess the nicer quality felt in the Baldifinos is suggested by the name.
