Shopping errands in my vintage Knox w/Comfit sweat. A modern Gannon (whiskey beaver w/charcoal trimmings)this afternoon. The new falling wet snow made a jacket and hat change practical for an hour or so of outside chores. No need to abuse a favorite wool cape coat or vintage hat.

Let it snow, Let it snow verses keep resonating thru my head this afternoon.

Man it doesn't show signs of stoppin'
And I brought some corn for poppin'
The lights are turned way down low
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Multi hat day here. Had to run to the grocery for some dinner ingredients and decided to wear the blue Marathon as the Wormser is having a sweatband spa session.

And then while I was out I figured since I was in the vicinity I would stop at my favorite thrift. They had this

A stingy and somewhat moth eaten Panizza Sportsman. What could I do, it matched my Loden coat. Ha ha.

Not exactly sure why they have that pointing dog out duck hunting, but maybe they do it differently in Italy.

Have a fine day,
Michael

Greetings Michael et al:
Michael you are a master of amalgamated colors. Green coat RED buttons and the perfect Panizza to match. I never would have thought of a red vest to match the buttons.
Do you have a tiny little red feather for the Panizza?
Be well. Bowen

Trying my "new" old hat. A vintage 1963 Prada that arrived today.
View attachment 112752

Prada was a brazilian hat brand that existed between 1908-1999. Please don't mistake with the italian fashion brand. The only conection is that Prada was the family name of the italian immigrant that founded it. In 2000 the factory was sold and the name changed to Pralana
That is a great looking hat and a very unique brand. I really enjoy seeing all your different hats, especially the unusual old Brazilian brands.

Thanks Bowen. I might have a red feather around here somewhere. I tend to misplace them. Maybe a friendly cardinal will be kind enough to drop one in the yard this breeding season.

Thanks Harv. When I found that 60s era Loden coat at the thrift it was sans buttons. For some reason I thought red buttons might be fun for awhile. And I happened to have a set so et voila.

Thanks,
Michael

Hello all. My first post here. My first hat. If I had gone to this forum first I may have held off for a vintage fur felt hat however I didn't and ended up with a wool felt pork pie. I will learn to learn more about old vintage hats from a time when decorum still existed.

Welcome Will:
Thats a fine first hat! Few have started with a Rolls Royce in hats. I believe we all started with a VW then “escalated”. That’s part of the fun, a growing appreciation of felt and fellowship. Again, welcome and look forward to your “escalations”,
Be well. Bowen
