A dog walk in a Gannon (Silverbelly beaver and charcoal trimmings).

Sleet and wind over-night has me working on yard clean-up. Limbs and branches lay all over the yard and beach. Carrying them to the wood stack had me working up a sweat after an hour. Filson jacket and Stormy Kromer my traditional work choice.

Sure enough I found big limbs which I could not move without making them smaller. Losing the wool jacket and switching to a cap that better works with ear-protection I started the chain saw in a Monsavais cap.

It may be 18'f, but the work had me comfortable without a jacket.

This is one of the chief executives in my hat room. Pre-WWII Stetson Clear Beaver western hats don't come up for sale often. This one was discovered by Lounge member Zetwal and I was fortunate to be able to purchase it from him. I made a thread for it with more photographs here.
c.1940, more or less, price labeled at $37.50, which would be more than $650 today.

O wow! I don't really have an eye for westerns, but this one jumps out right away!

Who goes there? Nice silhouette shot, Sergej.
The whole family well hatted again, sergej!
All of the combinations look good, Sergej. The last one is quite the cap!
Thanks for all the compliments, Stefan!
The Monsivais cap is a really large 20s style cap. My colleagues were a bit shocked by the sheer width of it.

Greetings Richard et al:
Dobbs Forty is a hat with everything. Some of the most well behaved felt i’ve ever had the pleasure of feeling. I truly enjoy seeing your “everything” hat out and about. Thanks
Be well. Bowen
