How did your excellent quality strat survive the elements? Mine experienced a deluge of rain and it was not pretty.

Just a light dusting of snow on it, so no real test. I've been wanting to get this one weathered to see how it responds. What happened with yours?

The felt in the crown not only warped but shrunk. Air dried it inside away from heat and it still shrunk at least half an inch open crown.

The new Hückel is a generous size 58, and fits a little loose. So, I have no choice but to moisten the sweat and wear it till it conforms. That's as good an excuse to wear it as I need.

I made this fedora last week. We'll call it "Adventurer" style. Rabbit fur felt. The band is a removable type I also made. It's temporary until the proper ribbon arrives. I also made the liner and hand-sewed in the sweatband. Pounced to 1,000 grit paper. It's incredibly light. Very comfortable to wear.

Note: for the Indy fans, yes, the dimensions are very close, but not exact. That was done on purpose. I didn't want to attempt a copy and then fail lol. I burned it twice but it still needs some more distressing.

That is one fine hat. I can't see anything wrong with the band. It's a beautiful creation.

Unseasonably nice here in Oregon for February. It should be 60 degrees this afternoon. Breaking all the "Straw Day" rules (traditionally May 15th) by wearing my NW Hats Lt Blue Duplex. I couldn't wait!! Had to give it a spin.

No hat yesterday. Well there was was, but no picture of it. But I got this: getting ready for the winter olympics (watching, not competing). Speedskating: the Dutch obsession. If the beard is longer I have been compared to papa smurf.
