You two look great!

Love that Champ Doug. A real winner there.

Michael
Thanks, Michael. I love your Marathon. A real stunner!

Good evening. This afternoon I was completing some chores in a vtg. Adam.

The nearly 3 inch brim protected me from the blowing leaves and dust being thrown up from cleaning the corners of the yard.

Unique edge treatment.

This is a stunning Adam for sure. The brim treatment and the rusty brown color make this one of my favorites. Great one Eric.

Last 3 days Whippet.
Very impressive! Beautiful lines.

Happy Sunday. I'm under another Adam today as I head off to mass under THE POLAR.

Ever since I have had this hat, I have been trying to find an ad for it to nail down its birthday. In the '30s and '40s Adam would sell a Hat of the Month. Each was given a name.

After years of searching, I think I finally found an ad for this one. I could find only one Hat of the Month ad offering a heathered felt hat. It was in November 1942. THE POLAR is not named but the ad mentions several color options. I suspect that THE POLAR was the green offering. I attach the ad.

Have a swell day.

Super Sleuth Matt! Finding an ad for this unique hat is epic! One of my all time favorites on the Lounge.

Another Sunday. Another dog walk before church. Very windy so the Dobbs stingy won out. Have a lovely day, gents.
Sharp Jacket Bjorn! The Dobbs is great with it. Nice pinch.

Knock out Knox Bill! What color is that ribbon? It seems to change in every pic.

My most recent VS came out this morning.

Nothing cleaner than a VS with a tight crease. What brim treatment is on this one?

Brrr! Overcast and chilly for mass this AM.

Next batch of catch up comments. I missed some great hats during the day. Liked em all. I was busy fact checking an article in our OSU Barometer Newspaper I was interviewed for this morning. Student reporters have to use their weekends for putting the paper to bed. They wanted to know about the history of our "Civil War Game" between OSU and the U of O. It is the oldest rivalry on the west coast, running 121 years.

Back under the Marathon on this crisp morning

Great color combo with that Great Coat. The later post with the details of this one make me droooooool!

Super finds, pity the hat pickings were not stellar. I am posting a question in a while about a weird Strat box I found on Ebay, the bottom one looks similar.

That is one fancy Knox sir! Love the sweat a whole bunch.

Single hat day, but there were try-outs!
Borsalino misto lapis (more on this one elsewhere).

Borsalino homburg gulaela (it was the winner today).

You rock Stefan!! Love everything about your collection.

Thanks Stefan.

A couple of gorgeous hats. It would be a tough choice, but I think you made the right one.

Don't grow up, it's overrated.

Thanks Bob. I think there was a period in the late '30s and early 40s when color was thought of as a good thing in an overcoat.

Thanks D. The coat is a Kuppenheimer and the fabric is one they called Valgora. It's a blend of alpaca, baby mohair and wool. The union tag has a 1939 date so it was made between then and 1949. I suspect pre-war. It's a relatively loosely cut half belt.

Justin, you are the vintage maven! The lines are so Roaring 20s, gangster (not to be confused with "gangsta", stupid use of the word), and that sweat!! They really knew how to make them back then.

Steston Stratoliner in Dixie-blue and going with the denim workman look today.

I really love the color on that Strat Samuel. It would be such a versatile color. Cooool.

Deluxe Quality "Moonstone" Akubra Federation IV. View attachment 94297 View attachment 94298 View attachment 94299
Great looking IV Bob. I think the Moonstone is my favorite color that Akubra makes.

Late 40s Champ today. Killer lids, gents!

The Champ is so great Doug. It just screams 40s/50s, all the bells and whistles.

Great image of some happy people, makes me happy too.

Hey all!
Hückel Weilheim up top this late afternoon.

That Huckel has such great lines and color. Is the liner fancy too, seems like they really make the innards as nice as the outsides.
