Trying to catch up here sometimes is like swimming upstream! A seriously SUPER weekend of fabulous families and FELTS, folks!!

Me? I spent the weekend with our 8 week old grand daughter. Her parents were invited to a wedding in Chicago, so this was our first test at full charge of an infant in about 28 years. We did it!! I'm almost ready for more! 1950-ish Stetson.

Wow, such skill! Taking a selfie with the baby grand daughter on your shoulder!

Dog walk in the 38'F morning. Sun has risen enough to capture some pics of my Cavanagh Homburg (inky blue with a maroon trimmings).

Best, Eric -
Gorgeous Homburg, Eric. Does that one have the half blind stitching on brim binding? Love the colorway!

I love those lids, but LOOK on Mrs. Fed's face (1st photo)... PRICELESS!!
I know! LOL. She didn't want me to post the picture but I love it! I was laughing so hard I could barely take the pictures.

Sweet lid!

Charlie; Being a Grandfather looks good on you! Congrats sir.

Thanks! I need to make occasions to wear this homburg with more dressy occasions.

Thanks sir. The hat is an early 50's. An earlier version of this hat was showcased by Delectans on the Cav thread. This venerable hat maker did some gorgeous detail work.

Have a coffee meeting in a bit and am heading out in a Gannon (silvermist with charcoal trimmings).

I enjoy that new Gannon more and more every time I see it.

D'awwww!

Greeting Monday in a mid-50s Stetson Playboy.

Great shark's gill Charlie. Is this a modern custom?

Thanks again, Mike! Not modern, it's estimated to be from the mid-forties. Hard to tell from tags, though, since it's a small hatter, not a major manufacturer. I couldn't find much about the M&K Custom Hatters of Los Angeles store at 117 W. 4th Street, except to know that the building still exists.

Cold morning and a midday like early September
Borsalino Qualità Extra Superiore size 6 (US / 3/8)
s1uqlj.jpg

It is another "Corteccia" color with a fancy brown ribbon
6joz2t.jpg

The felt is very soft with a very short hair finish
2pyqlph.jpg

It is more old than the Corteccia with shark gill ribbon

It come NOS from the Meran hats warehouse
I'm thinking I choose these colors, in my last purchase, because we are in autumn...enchantment of the first ray of sun in the morning
