One of my favorites today. A Dobbs 15 in a beautiful, rich chocolate cake brown...

I love that Dobbs, too. Beautiful vintage felt.

Beautiful hat!
Thanks, I've been enjoying your Mallory a lot!

Today is dedicated to one of the oldest (maybe late forties) Borsalino I have in my collection

It was a fantastic find some months ago in Bologna

Qualità Extra Superiore Petronius "Lavorazione speciale"

Felt is medium stiff with a very peachy finish

Sweatband is not at its best, the felt is pristine despite the years

This old needs an appropriate presentation

Buon mercoledì

The moth eaten flea bag of a Brent OR Clone has been refurbished into a wearable everyday fedora by Mike Miller of NW Hats. And...wait for it Bob...whipstitch! More on the other usual thread locations.

If this beauty was half as bad as you describe it you made a great save.

I got a Derby that dare not speak it's name a while back. It is early, the only markings found were from a clothing store on Long Island NY called Dunstatter's. The sweat stitching had rotted and was not worth saving, so I had Mike reshape and put in a modern sweat with a liner. It is going to be a daily driver Derby to go with my Christy's Bowler.

Looks like 2 saved hats today. Wear them both often.

Beautiful Eric. The twist in the ribbon is a nice touch from Art. I am liking granite more and more.

Sweet Borso Samuel, where did you find this beauty?

Super look today 101! I like the color combo with that ribbon. What lapel pin are you wearing?

Classic Jay! The finish on that felt looks luxurious.

Stunning straw Perry. I have one more day of straw weather and then just PNW rain for a while. You inspire me.

502nd Infantry 101st Airborne Div. I was in the 3 Battalion that lost 248 troopers returning from the MFO mission. Plane went down 12 Dec 85. Not the best X-mas for sure.

You look great, man!
Fabulous look Jer! I hope there are spectators on the floor! Although they might not be right on with that beautiful CS.
Thank you very much fellas!! :) No spectators today sadly. The weather was a bit too dreary for them I thought. I went with a nice captoe balmoral.

Magnificent borsalino, compliments! I have several old Borsalino's from the finst mens store in Boston..from the 40's through the 60's. I'd love to acquire more of them if anyone can help with a source. The store name was Scott & Co., Ltd. 340 Washington St. in Boston. I tried to attach a photo but this page is very confusing, my photo won't attaxch...it says something about not the correct pixels or something.
Some times cropping the picture slightly will help.

This has been a great week for hats! Today, my Hückel Chamois arrived from France. Having the hat in hand, it appears to be newer than the auction description, I never believe them anyway. The finish is so...chamois like. Feels really good and supple. The details of this hat are all of high quality. I took a chance on a 7 3/8 thinking I could shim it. My Borsalino 58cm is really small, but it appears that Hückel is more true to size. Love the hat, I might let it go to a larger noggin Lounger at some point. Trade material?
