Just ordered an Aero Highwayman

1930s Premier. I love this pattern.

I have this same jacket in black Vicenza and wanted brown too for a few months now but I kept putting it off. Without getting into reasons why I figured the price of importing Horween leather into the UK might go up and that was enough to push me over the edge. Brown CXL FQHH this time around.

The only thing I'm unsure of is the lining. I know I want Lochcarron Tartan and don't want primarily red. For now I went with Auld Scotland but I can change that. Buchanan blue and Mckenzie look great too. My 2 black Aeros have Auld Scotland and Mckenzie. I don't know if I should stick with what I like or go with something new to mix it up. What does TFL say?

It’s obviously all a matter of personal taste and while there’s nothing wrong at all with Auld Scotland but for a brown jacket my preference would definitely be Buchanan Blue.

I have exactly the same jacket - PHWM in brown with the Buchanan blue lining - looks fantastic. For my recent Bootlegger in Blackened brown vicenza I chose the Isle of Skye tartan. I love having different linings - makes the jackets really standout

To me brown Leather with blue lining is the best, so i’m in buchanan hands down

Also some green is pretty good, but is a matter of personal taste…

Does Aero offer a satin lining for smooth wearing over a flannel or synthetic shirt? I know the flannel is tradition, but have also seen satin in several vintage leathers. Maybe I’m missing something.

It’s not satin but Aero Leather do offer cotton sateen as an option for a lining. Being smooth with a light sheen this would probably be suitable for you are looking for.

I have a highwayman with the cotton sateen, it is smooth, although the tartan does add some personality. If I was custom ordering one I'd probably go for the Buchanan.
