Cool crisp California morning with Stetson Stratoliner and denim shirt. Finally some long sleeve weather 68F until noon when we will go back to mid 90's. Feels like autumn is in the air—approaching. Feels weird not to be wearing my Penny's Marathon that hat is comfy. Good week everyone!

Lovely cool morning. For some reason my Penney's Marathon seems to be in a particularly blue mood this morning,

I doubt if I will be so lucky.

Thanks, Doug. It's an amazing place... we're pretty lucky.

Lucky to have this lid, too! And, @Samuel, I think the ribbon is more of a dusty cantelope, or like a coppertone. Hard to pin down.
I'm liking the "dusty" descriptor lately. That "dusty cantloupe" just might be the color of the brim binding on my 50's Royal Stetson! I've been using "faded gold" to describe it...

final hat in a series of five received from @Daniele Tanto, 78gsm stingy borsalino sold in rizzi hat shop in the 1960s-70s, very maleable felt, classic coloured outside, finely stitched brim, unusual papal purple lining and sweat. Keep in mind i hadn't even brushed this one, just shook a quick crease into it, and the light this afternoon is religious. Happy owner.

Cheers! David
I really like the colors on this one David.
Yesterday when the sun was low in the sky I was outside in a vtg. Stetson Playboy. The lightweight brown, unlined hat is marvelous for fall.

This morning a vtg. Stetson Whippet was worn on the morning dog walk.

Best, Eric -
Two stunning vintage examples of great Stetson headwear!

Winter is hitting early, cold and rainy (Bob weather report). My Dobbs Twenty will be just the ticket today.

While I prefer brim down, I think that lid could go either way and look great! It has gotten cold, hasn't it? It was supposed to hit 69 or 70F here yesterday and around 2 pm the clouds blew in and then the rain... maybe back to sunny and 75 by Saturday!

Nice!

Always a lady, and so well hatted!

I wore this one for Bob as we have the exact same hat! Stetson Premiere Whippet. View attachment 86358

Fine hats indeed, Michael. I'm impressed with the collection of hats you've picked up! Both of these are hats I'd be proud to wear, and what a great ensemble you have going today, too!

I am intrigued by the wind trolley button arrangement; it seems to be mounted on the ribbon somehow. Can you describe how they did that please? Thanks.
Yes, the button is mounted on the hat.

As you roll the cord up around the crown
DSCN4843 crop by Michael A2012, on Flickr
You are left with this
DSCN4842 crop by Michael A2012, on Flickr
You could either use the sliding loop or pull it through and use the fixed loop to attach to a button on your shirt or jacket. I haven't tried it yet, but I could see that attaching it to the collar button of a button down shirt would make a very secure arrangement. Not sure how the cord would hang then, but one of these days I'll try it out.

Great looking Dobbs today Red. And the St Regis yesterday was stellar.

You need to give them some rest time and the Stratoliner looks like a worthy substitute.

Yes, I wish I had more blue hats. Great looking Jaxonbilt you are wearing today.

That Davis is a real beauty!
Thanks DD. I wish it was a couple of sizes smaller. It's a fine hat for sure.

wonderful start to this monday morning, my friends. Each hat is spectacular

continuing with this much needed cooler weather trend we've acquired sometime last week, I'm wearing my c.1930s Stetson Stetsonian Featherweight and a vintage overcoat from probably the 30s timeframe until it warms up in the afternoon. Also a brim up shot for our pal

Great looking hat and coat Justin. It sounds like it will be back to the 90s for highs here after today.

Thanks all,
Michael
