Today I had the honour of being a waiter at my youngest daughter's school christmas dinner.

My Christy's of London order finally came in. I am IMPRESSED with both the quality of the felt and the styling of the hats. I ordered two Homburgs and one Panama hat. The Panama Hat material is thin but the styling is superb.

Note: The Homburgs come with the side rolled up in a cowboy style which I dislike very much. However after folding and tugging they seem to relax enough to give a more rounded look.

MINK colored Homburg paired with Cazal 616 Brown Sunglasses :

My first, and so far only, Etsy purchase is a brown Christy fedora. Love the hat. The felt is soft and compliant, the same beautifully rich brown as yours. The brim is a little stingier than is good for my oversized self so I am thinking about converting it to a pork pie.

Hey folks!
Many thanks for the likes and nice words. Always appreciated!:)
Today is a stunningly beautiful day. I rarely use the word gorgeous, but today would merit it.
It's flippin' gorgeous out.
So to take full advantage of a straw day in December, my WWII era Parabuntal that I finished from a hood some time ago and recently redone and with a pug I rescued from a ladies' hat I found in a thrift store last week.

But enough gabbing! I have to enjoy this gorgeous day some more!
You all have a great one too.

Running the last few errands before traveling to California tomorrow. 500 miles, Albany to Clovis to spend Christmas with the nieces (family too...). I'm so done... San Francisco Hatter with a center crease that is growing on me. Kind of a retro look from the early century (in my mind...)

Nice choice for a trip to California, and looks great with that crease!

Michael! Wow! Very dapper.
I love that Pilgrim, btw
Thanks Harv. Your borsa today was a sweet hat. I've been re-watching Foyle's War lately and I'm really liking the way they are wearing the brims. A bit of swoop and not much downturn. The Pilgrim seems to naturally favor that shape.

Michael, I wonder if you have collections of man Italian Vogue of the seventies.
It was by that time I had not seen a crew neck sweater put on a tie in contrast.
Fantastico e sublime!
These are age memories that resurface
PS the google translator served you weel two or three days ago
I came of age in the 70s, though I was a bit more on the hippie side at the time. So I do what I can to revive the fashion. Ha ha.

Nice bash on that Pilgrim, Pilgrim! Very festive as usual, you will stand out in the Christmas Crazy crowds!
Thanks Red. I actually had a guy come up to me and compliment me on my look while I was out today. Happens very rarely.

:) gotta love Billie Holiday

Great styling and great photos as ever!
Thanks Celia. That is a great homburg you are wearing today. I will probably revisit it.

Nice hat and nice outfit. Overcoat looks especially great!

Thanks Serge. The coat was made between 1939 and 1949. It's about my favorite.

Not to betray the tradition, the proportions are typical of an EU cap of 45 years ago
The hat was an old not sold stock of a Sicilian shop with, still inside, the warehouse label

Good Thursday and thank you for your likes on the "le diplomatique Francais" made by A. France
Another fantastic hat Daniele. Do you have just one hat for every day of the year or more than one? Great photos too.

Great looking Fed.

Unexpected field trip to make a delivery this morning.

I'm wearing the 1950s Crofut & Knapp Forty.

Thanks for all of the kind words about yesterday's Knox.

Have a delightful Friday eve.
Super hat Matt. With some serious brimmage.

Great trooper Bob. Recent find?

Today almost became a miserable boring hat day, but then this black borsalino homburg happened:

It was made for the German market, perhaps the little brother of the one @mayserwegener wore the other day? Here are a couple of quick pictures, if I have time later I will take some better ones for the borsalino thread...

Everybody's looking good again today :)
You're looking very good in the homburg. Will we be seeing more of it? Or you?

Looking good Serge. Isn't a black bowtie the usual wear for waiting the daughter's dinner parties?

Michael

@BobHufford - nice crease. Good colour as well.

Celia -- thanks, but the credit goes to Resistol. I bought this as new-old-stock (still in the box) and left it as creased from the factory. It is a South Carolina Highway Patrol hat and I think this model was last used in the late 1960s.

I love what you are bringing to the Lounge! Glad to have you here.
