Hey everyone!

FU FRIDAY!!
That's G.B. Borsalino fu Lazzaro & C., BTW, not the rude explative.
I'm really digging this bowler thing. Looking at getting another one (or maybe more) in the near future.
Pardon the poor photos, bad lighting today.

Very cool. When you have the chance, would you post a shot of the wrap off of your head and spread out? It'd be nice to better see the pattern on the fabric.

Take it easy.

Sure! Here are my headwraps. The bases are maroon, black, red, and navy:

They are a decent quality considering they came out of the third world. In my opinion, the textiles from the rural areas are nicer because they are traditionally dyed and woven and the little imperfections just feel more authentic. The headwraps are from my father's region in the capital (metro area) while my loin cloths are from my mother region in the rural north. Here's my loincloth draped over a tribal shield, also from my mother's region:

Not much to see ... he said it was cold.

I would like to know the dimensions on this (the head wrap) and the folding pattern. Looks like it's pleated a bit.

Lol! Jokes. The wrap dimensions range from 22" to 24" so pretty much the same as a large Western bandana. The folding pattern is one of many the islanders use:

1. Open diamond:

2. Mountain folds on bottom half to form horn:

3. Fold horn up

15219563_10102882892966788_959867045821710278_n.jpg

4. Roll up once to start the headband:

5. Roll up again to finish headband:

Tie that around your head and tuck the large triangle into the knot to create the bonnet. Or, you can do a variation where you make a horn out of both sides of the wrap:

I'll westernize later today -- but for now, yard work whilst honoring my heritage: traditional Filipino headwrap from Manila.

Too cold for the matching loin cloth today ;)
In addition to Matt's request to see the fabric, I'm curious about the dimensions and the method of wrapping.

I tackled the estimated eight billion and two leaves in my yard while wearing this Ranch Western Wear wide brim telescope. The wrap might have handled the sweat better.

Thanks Harv!
It's number 3 in the favourites :)
Shape look familiar?

That is a good hat you've got there...

Typically lovely hat. Again, just perfect ribbon choice.
Thanks matt. So is yours.

Echoing other comments. That's a great hat, and I like the campaign bow. The picture itself really stands out this morning. Not sure if it's the lighting or how it's composed, but you did a really good job setting up that shot.
Thank you kindly.
It's a spectacular quality ribbon. And the felt is pretty great too.
I was just waiting around. Just good light. :)
A red ribbon day! Looks very nice.
Thanks!

Gorgeous hat Esther. You look like you are still very much on the happy side of life.

Man that is a beauty Harv. Fantastic color. Do you carry that tree around with you for backdrop?

Michael
I am, very. Life is great.
Your outfit is yet again, outstanding.
You have a gift.

Great looking hat!

Thanks Terry. Glad to see you around.

Thank you, Frun! I WILL be thinking about all you folks. Strange, but true!
Charlie, I'll be thinking of you. Please get well soon. Hope the surgery goes well and the healing even better.

Love

Love that hat!
Thx Rick!

Goes with those nice blue eyes.
Ha! Good light really.
