Two hat day. This morning for services I chose a Silverbelly VS. It's a very simple looking hat but I think it has a classic look. Love it as I do all my hats from Art Fawcett. View attachment 135853 View attachment 135854 View attachment 135855 View attachment 135852

This afternoon I switched to my Gannon Natural. This has a bit taller crown at 6" and wider brim at 3".

One of the finest Homburgs on the lounge Max. That color is extra special!

After church with Sandra and daughter; wearing the dark navy Disney. I'd forgotten how much I love this hat.

Classy, classy, classy. Great picture of the family.

The ribbon work on both these customs is fantastic. The frayed Gannon is on my list.

I do not think the web site itself is running slow. The other threads I visit are fine. It's just this thread with almost 9,000 pages. Thats a lot to sort each time you refresh or go to the next page. There may be others that are also slow but if there are I bet will also have thousands of pages.

****** I think the fix will be to start a new thread and archive this one. *********

Bill: i think that might be a good idea to run by, i guess it would be the bartenders.
I doubt they see every post so this one will probably get lost in the shuffle just as much as daily hats do.
How does one address a bartender?? Other than using words like what the.... and hey......well, you get the idea. Idk

Here's my latest project all finished. This is an early '60s Royal Stetson Open Road that I took apart and reblocked and sized up from a 7 1/8 LO to a 7 1/4. I was able to save most of the original stuff like the ribbon and bow, the liner, the wind trolley, the sweat bow, and I even put the original 7 1/8 LO size tag back in the hat too. Of course, I had to change out the original sweat in the size up. I'll have more in the Conversion Corral later...

Put back together and completed with the original stuff back on the hat...

Once again, fine work Terry. I know you're not a fan of the brim width, but the proportions still look good, and it suits you well. If only it were my size I could possibly help take it off your hands :)

I don't think it's the number of pages in each thread that's the issue, but the number of images on each page. Pages that are mostly text or all text load much faster on my laptop than pages that have a lot of photos. That doesn't really surprise me since the software is having to load those image files from the Lounge's servers and offsite photo hosting sites that may or may not be offline or not functioning efficiently.

You may be correct but when I go to the “post new hats here”, “borsalino brotherhood”, or “school of hard knox” pages they load pretty fast and they are photo intensive. I have very fast internet at home (1 gigabyte). So pictures load fast. What I see as the slowdown is how long it takes the page to start loading. This thread takes a much longer time. But again I’m just reporting my observations and may very well be out in left field.

This might be a good idea. Give me some feedback on closing this thread and making it a sticky [so it can be viewed easily when wanted].
Then we can start a new WHAYWT thread.

Thank you buddy. I had a little trick that I used to make the brim appear wider than it actually is. I'm starting to warm up to it. It's getting there.
