Another damp morning, but it looks like it may clear enough to make a fairly nice day. Stetson 3X

I'm guessing '70s or 80s for this one

Have a great Labor Day
Michael
Very showy for the morning. Those feathers really catch the eye. I wonder what species produced them?

No hats yesterday (went cycling and didn't go out after that). So two hat day today.

Been digging through my hats to look for candidates to let go (found plenty of them). Upside is that you encounter hats that don't get enough head-time but still need to be in the collection. This one for instance.

Opale is such a nice color for a homburg. Nice change from rich browns. The Lees is a worthy keeper. You are going to have to re-introduce these "finds" to us.

My better half and I are very glad to be home after a wonderful Vacay. No new hat purchases while away. While on the ship and around the ports I was wearing my "travel" lids (straw Cabo palm and gray Borso)....but nothing beats sitting on your balcony and feeling those cool ocean breezes. ;) Stay well everyone.

Thanks for sharing your vacation photos! Looks like a great, relaxing time for you and your beautiful wife. Super selection of hats for the journey!

Nice color and ribbon. I dig a good 60s looking Milan.

Those two make up for the day off. Both fantastic looking. Great color on the Lees

Looks like a quality hat, Michael. The ribbon and feathers would put it firmly in the seventies in my view.
I would concur.

Happy Labor Day to you, Michael. That 3X looks like it has some really nice felt!
Thanks Doug. It's from the school of stiff brim, soft crown westerns. Decent felt, but not up to the quality of my early '50s 3X models. I'd consider doing a conversion on it, if I wasn't too lazy to consider doing anything.

Thanks Red. I'm guessing harlequin bird.

Thanks all,
Michael

It is good to be home with your hats again. It is awful hard not to be waited on constantly, that takes a little getting used to. Your images turned out great, fine hats make these cruise shots worth purchasing.
Thanks Red, we're too cheap to purchase the ship photos, lol, but because we travel on RCCL so often we get a few free perks like several free photos, free drinks, wifi, etc. I think our next trip I will only take one hat. Having multiple hats requires an extra suitcase and we like to travel a bit lighter than we did on this trip. Between airline flights, taxis, hotel stays, and ships....luggage is a big burden for our "senior citizen" bodies.....less is better when traveling.

Cool pics, cool story and cool(est) hat, Bowen. Funny how the nutria would get the sympathy. They're considered a pest and are not exactly cuddly animals. Way better in their hat-shape:D
Thanks Stefan:
Ha yeah, i pointed that out. I think they are starting a “Nutria Rescue” support group or something. You should have seen their faces when the saw the 35 lb zoo images. Wish i’d had my camera but was busy ODing on Chinese.
Never tell the truth if asked the question “what is a Nutria”. Tell em it’s a llama type thing or something. Ha Think they wanted me to move my hat!!
Then again beavers ain’t exactly beautiful. Lol

Greetings All:
Ok...lest someone thinks i can’t wear a fine POS hat here’s a $1.50 beauty. Every since i noticed the Conifers dripping very sappy sap out back at my coffee station i’ve been totally paranoid about wearing any hat under them except this stellar example. Made me think maybe a new thread is needed. “What Hat are you afraid to wear and why?”. Might be insightful.
Note the perfect Tear drop on ol POS!!
Not for sale!
Be well. Bowen

Stetson Premier Stratoliner this afternoon. It was rainy and windy this morning. Sunny, hot, and humid this afternoon.
Wow! It reminds me why my American friends think about the weather so much. In Mexico City, we complain about rain, but it almost always happens after 4 p.m.

Doc, i ran out out of superlatives for all your hats many hats ago!!
I would only be superfluous, banal and trite.
You know what i think about this hat too!
I WILL have something to say when you post up the 51’ Fifty!!! Especially if too few pics. Lol
