Wearing a vtg. Dobbs Cross Country during my cross country travels this week.

i-K7gqXQK-M.jpg

A lightweight shapely beauty (referring to my hat of course) is a great traveling companion.

With Bob Hufford's assistance I did stumble into a Dobb's Salesman sample that is fortuitous in its coordinating match with my travel duds.

Best, Eric -
Beautiful. I am glad I never got into shoes! One can spend a real fortune there.

Keeping with the European Homburg theme in the cool mornings of late. I went ahead and dusted off the Mossant Diplomatique (it was in the same box as the Barbisio from yesterday) for a few errands this morning. Daniele thought this one was quite old, possibly just after WWII. Just something about a Homburg from Europe, great lines and construction. Of course this one came from Remes, on Rue le ba***rd!DSCN4373 crop by Michael A2012, on Flickr

Another big live music weekend here. Hope the weather cooperates.
Have a good one,
Michael
Marathon good!! Hope you see some great music in the next few days.

A moist day in Funkytown as well, and I'm lamenting the possible demise of a free outdoor Foghat show tonite.

Weathering the dampness under a Portis of "Sterling" quality. A bit of a smaller profile than I normally wear, but a great thin ribbon with excellent blocking and a fantastic fit and feel.

Great looking Portis, I think you can pull off these dimensions just fine. Hope the concert comes together.

Wearing the Resistol San Antonio, while it is cool this morning. This is one of my favorites.

Very nice Dd! Are the "designed by" earlier than a Harry Rolnick product. I've seen both.

Yes it is Charlie. And a fine one too.

Coolest morning in months. I actually put on a fleece jacket! Paired with my 1st NW Hats fedora in the pecan beaver felt.

Love the pecan Doug. These images don't make look as "brown" as mine. Probably just the light.

A "Light Lee"! I love the way they used the company name in their names, I have a Smart Lee and a Lee Jet. Cool hat Max.

Very nice Winston!

I can't wait for the weather to change so I can utilize and enjoy my hats again. In the meantime, I've been working on this one: an Etsy "bargain" that has never truly clicked for me. After finding inspiration in two places ( a biography of Oppenheimer and a pic of my great-great-great grandpa), I think I've finally found the shape it wants to be in .

Next project: I'm going to replace the ribbon and bow. View attachment 131435 View attachment 131436 View attachment 131437
As a Historian, I can appreciate your goal to match historic hats from our past. I think you did a great job. Great way to make an entrance, welcome to the Lounge.

1910s Stetson "Clear Nutria". Has a 7" open crown and a 4 3/8" brim. Widest brim I've ever owned. Decided i'll give it a shot and see how it looks. View attachment 131439 View attachment 131440 View attachment 131441

Planning to make a few sales calls on your way? You look sharp as usual.

Two hat day. Started off with a felt: the Borsalino Palladio again.

View attachment 131474

It warmed up quickly though, so I switched to the Dunlap panama.

Two great ones today Stefan. That Dunlap is the epitome of what a panama should look like.
