The Borsalino spent some time in the yard with me this morning before the high temps showed up.

That is a fine looking hat Doug.
Thank you, Richard. It's a definite favorite of mine. It started open crown and originally got a softly defined center dent with moderate front/side pinches. I recently sharpened things up a bit and really enjoy the new look.

I sure enjoy seeing your hats. The straw today is especially nice!

Greetings All:
Today it’s a 40s vintage Vita-Felt Friday Stratoliner. Unreeded, unlined, in a nice chocolate color. I really like the ribbon contrast on this one. In pretty good shape for an oldtimer! Ha
Be well. Bowen
As always to each of you my thanks for your kind words, all.

A Borso in it's natural habitat! Love this one, you kept it nice a clean. Good job.

The quality of an old Stratoliner is a joy to behold Bowen. Did it ever have a liner? Or did they sell them all ways?

Hey Red: thanks for the kindness.
I do not know. That’s a good question. Of the 3 i can look at 1 has the obvious remnant of a tip crest but the others are not. So, we’ll have to throw that out to the crowd to weigh in.

This is an impeccable Borsalino! I see your’s has the delicate felted brim edge that Borsalino does so perfectly! The liner crest is one of my favorites. I know this one nearly floats away.

Thanks Bowen, sent it Art at VS a few months back to see if he could get out a few dirt spots on the crown and brim and it came back perfectly clean. He called me as soon as he opened the box and said he hadn't handled such a nice felt like this one in ages. It shapes up very easily, and goes out of shape pretty quickly as well. Steam not needed. :)

Maybe you could post it in the Borsalino Brotherhood thread. Would be nice to see the tags too! And closeups of the brim edge! And...well go Wyld. Ha

Such a great looking fedora Tuk. Sure wish computer screens would show correct colors. Would love to see the pecan color of that one. My screen shows it as silver / gray. ;(
That is a downside of internet pics. The fleece jacket is close to the Winchester dark moss felt and the hat is indeed a pecan brown felt with a medium brown crown ribbon and brim binding.
