Hey Red:
I don’t know how to pull a quote out of a quote..or a rabbit out of a hat for that matter!!
But, Santana has his own hat line. No idea who makes them. They are all different, don’t know if i’ve ever seen two alike. They are well made little hats. Hell, the boxes are total cool too!!
I got this one this year from Half Price Pauly. About $99, no cool box though.

What a sweet Mallory! And...gills!

You will have to do a "Hat Parade" when you get them all spiffed up. This Adam is a gem.

Cool hat band. Great shape.

Love the brim edge treatment on this one Christophe. Can't wait to see what Yellowstone brings.

Oh Wow! The details are mind boggling on this beauty Bowen. I like the stitching on the ribbon. What time frame is this one from?

Nothing could be finer and a well formed Milan.

Inky Steve. Here's a weird question...how do you rate the German makers in a heirarchy? Wegener in the middle, towards the top of a quality scale? How does Hückel rate? Maybe stick with 1950s offerings... Inquiring pea brains want to know.

I dig the brim and weave on this one Brent. Affordable?

One of the finest colors we have seen. Glad to see you with it. Maybe a little more pinch?
Already did. I copied Anthony's. I have been brushing, cleaning, and steaming hats and saddle-soaping leather sweats for three hours, and have only finished three hats.
I bought this to condition the sweats. Think it will work?

I bought my new to me BB from Half-Price Pauly. He had it listed for $794 and accepted $350. It was a 15% off day on eBay so I ended up paying $297.
I will post it in the Panama Hats thread when I finish my hat-sprucing project. I want to show side-by-side pictures of it and my Optimo Panama. Is it really better at 17 percent of the cost, or am I missing something?

Hey Max, I have quite a bit of experience with Leather Honey. I’ve used it on sweatbands with some success. It has its place, but it’s not my primary leather conditioner. Lexol, and mink oil are the most popular choices. Leather Honey will leave a viscous film that will need to be wiped off if you use it. Cadillac Leather Conditioner also has its fans. I used to use Bick 4, but after Justin @splintercellsz said he used mink oil I switched. There are lots of options and some folks are serious devotees. I’d keep the Leather Honey for those sweats that are in the worst condition and use something else for regular use.

Thank you, Brent. I'm off to Amazon. Hope they deliver one of them to Mexico.

Supposed to get very windy today. Will have to go with a tight fitting cap for my bike ride.

I'm not much of a western hat guy, but this one I really like. I think it's the flat brim.
I like the flat brim on this one too. Seems to work with the crown shape. And it does keep the sun off.

You wear it well, Michael. But you wear all your hats well...
Thanks Stefan. It served it's purpose today and kept my head dry in a total downpour that I got caught out in. I think it benefited from the wash.

Yesterday: Mayser panama

Thanks Bowen. I had an alternate jacket lined up in case the rain picked up.

Loved the Carlos hat. I did not know such a thing existed.

Thanks,

Many thanks for your likes, quotes and so on.
Compliments to you all, I exploit the moment of popularity by showing you the creation of Fleur - Penumbra hat

A friend of mine called me "Paron" that means "Land lord" and we smiled ten minutes. There are many meanings of this venetian word :)
