Yesterday and today my lucky Playboy,that I got from Moon.Went to the flea market.Didn't find a hat...I did find something I've been looking for a long time.Have seen a couple,but they were in bad shape and price was to high.My Grandpa gave me one when I was a kid.Little mechanical smoking drinking man.Only missing his bottle.

Some kids get G. I. Joe and want to grow up to be just like him, snd then there was THAT kid...
That's a great "action figure"!

Super weave on that Panama Michael. Melvin? I think this one should keep that name, it has character.

Melvin Genuine Panama is the only info on the sweatband. There is a much faded ink stamp on the inside of the straw where the only thing readable is MH. I wonder if that was the stamp Melvin put on the bodies they chose for purchase. In any case, yes, I'm going to call it the Melvin. Ha ha. It is a decent weave it seems.

Lol, the teacher and I had our differences. It’s a terrible job to be paid to be a backseat driver....I ate his apple in retribution.

To be fair he taught us a lot and I’m sure there will be times I’ll appreciate having his voice in my head, “Search and scan!” “You’re riding the clutch!” “You held your right turn too long!”

Grrrrr.....

No ... wait ... you can still get this one if you want.

It takes a super soft brim to crush back against the high-backed drivers seat in those truck cabs. The Mallory is perfect, the 3X Stetson doesn’t work at all.

Unknown vintage JC Penny’s Genuine Panama. Crest on sweat says Solar Straw above JC Penny and appears to say New York Made below that crest. Could be New York Grade but looks more like made than grade. Genuine Panama on other side of sweat. Sweat will eventually need replacing but for now I’ve taped it together with artists tape.
