:arated: Yup -- that one is a beauty, Gene.

The style, the proportions, the colors, the condition, the embroidered liner, the iridescent ribbon -- just beautiful. I'm glad to have been able to see that one in person. ;)

Cheers,
JtL

Today I'm an electrician

Heading out to run some errands and get supplies so I popped on the new Akubra Ranchero. Judging as there is no listing for this aht anywhere I would say it is old stock. Also, it is a 57, the same size as dad's old Akubra that, when he gave it to me, I had to stretch slowly and gently over a period of days to fit my 59 noggin but this fits perfectly. I would, in fact, say this fits me best of all my hats and I feel most comfortable in it and have right from the start :)

Great hat, Gene! Especially like the color. I've got a custom ( my first ) coming in a similar shade. If mine looks half as good on me as yours does on you, I'll be a happy fella.

Here's my hat from yesterday:

IMG_1280.jpg

A mid-fifties Open Road. I've posted a couple of times about it on the Open Road Guild thread, but this is the first pic of the thing on my head ( and a lesson on cleaning the bathroom mirror seems to be in my future  ).
I was feeling squirrely yesterday and wore the ever comment inviting "fedora and leather jacket combo". Amazingly, not a single "Indy!". Buuuuuut... funny enough, in the evening, I switched to a green wool blazer and red plaid vest and got two "Indys" within an hour lol .

Rusty...

If someone told us that the world was merely hanging on a very thin ribbon, I'm convinced that you'd be the first one to applaude, eh? :p lol :D

All that aside: Just what Rusty said! :arated:
