What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

A few days ago Michael was wearing his Stetson Sovereign Twenty. I have one too, but could not find a noggin shot of me wearing it. Found it!

All beautiful, but I have a real big soft spot for those fu Lazzaro gems. Great hat!

I vote not. I’d wear that great hat just the way it is Moe. Even with the brim break it is always gonno be a great classy straw. Such fine weave, be ashamed to see some in the trash. Just my opinion but it’s super.

Have you seen one of Art's felt/straw creations? A couple folks around here have them. They look pretty classy to me. I certainly wouldn't buy one new to be cut up and sewn to a felt.
Still haven't made up my mind. Also, no clue what it would cost...that might be prohibitive right there.

Two hat day! My other "work" hat will travel down to build some set pieces at the theater tonight. This hat is a perfect example of a low end, cheap hat for a few bucks in the 1950s. I have not found any references, yet, to this odd company, possibly a jobber. Hat City Hat Co. of Danbury Conn. Another one for the beater thread.
It won't bother this one to be covered in sawdust and theater dirt.

I see you have the fawn and graphite Banjo? Which one do you prefer and why? I'm leaning heavily towards getting one... (I am east asian and have a yellow hue, and am a bit concerned with blending in with the fawn; but I'm a bit concerned about the black being too warm for summers?)

These were the inspiration for the one I had Mike Miller make me. The extra expense of two hat bodies combined into one hat is the kicker.

C. G. Wilke "Flamand" probably late 1920s. Flamand is an unshorn Velour.

Probably not worn like this in the day but you can see the large amount of brim flange. Also the brim over-welt, crown form, and lively bow design.

Mette, Obermarkt 6, Freiberg in recent times. Now called Barbara Mette Hats, Caps and Bridle Wear so she is probably related Reinhold.

It is cool looking both ways. The classic form as a nod to history and as a snapped fedora for fun!

You can tell that it was a low end hat in it's day, but yes, it does have a certain patina feel.

French in grey made, many years ago, in wool

The hat was produced by "JB deposé" for A. Meer - Strasbourg

This is one of my favourite hat before the WWII, even if it is a little fragile above all the sweatband

No snap brim and a huge and imponent crown

Without lining with a tip of the hats shop as most of the medium end hats fo that period

This is another French grey to continue the serie
