Every once in a while there's a discussion about the "Imperial vs. Heritage" issue, so if/when you have the time you might want to read through some of the dedicated Akubra threads. Even among more experienced hat wearers opinions are somewhat mixed and it seems to boil down to personal preference, but those posts might contain information/opinions I've missed.
I just absolutely love seeing your pictures. Invariably wonderful.
