Almost quitting time, so I'm gonna head out and have myself an Insistent Brim Curl or two (on Jim, of course).
Regards to Willie, Greg! I hope you're wearing that lid, BECAUSE!!
Now I'm noticing the boots even more, you B#*%^*#d! Those are some sweet-lookers you have on today!! The all-black alligator belly beauties on the website you linked me to, at $7000, are my hands down favorites. I'd have to sell ALL my hats, (and probably loose my wife) though. We'll see...
Boy, there's hat history, and then there's hat history. Thanks for sharing that information--interesting read, and a wonderful hat. And Happy Birthday! To celebrate my birthday, I'm wearing my present that arrived yesterday.
Knox Superfine from the 1940s.
The hat belonged to Brigadier General Jerome J. Waters, Jr...
You're very welcome. I'm always willing to share what little knowledge I have. Thanks for the review Zombie. I appreciate your input.
Huh... These pretzels are making me thirsty.I sprung for some pretzels, too.

Awesome jacket too, what type is that? With a bit more sunshine that hat would steal the show, Daniele. The faunosca is a great model.
See, there's the rub. Some of my hats are 5 1/4, some are 5 1/8, some are either 57, 58, or 59, some are medium some are large. The all fit great, why can't the sizing be more consistent among brands? What's the deal with sizing anyway? If you're a 7 1/4 you can keep them at my house.

Very unique ribbon and binding contrast to the hat body. I like it...a lot!Last night snowblowing in a Stormy Kromer. Wind gusts to upper 40 's mph.
Snowblowing in a Gannon (whiskey felt with charcoal trimmings).
Best, Eric -
Now that's a Hat! You bring your "A" game every post!Mayser "Hut Seidl München" date stamped December 27, 1958.
Happy Birthday, MM! Wahoo Wa!To celebrate my birthday, I'm wearing my present that arrived yesterday.

The hat belonged to Brigadier General Jerome J. Waters, Jr. Waters served in World War I as a Captain in the 15th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Division. During that service, he was awarded three Silver Stars for "gallantry in action" on July 21, 1918 near Villemontoire, France.
In World War II, Waters commanded an artillery training center in China to train nationalist Chinese (known as the Y Force) for defense against the Japanese.
After the war, Brig. Gen. Waters was warden at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in the early 1950s. There, he instituted significant reforms and was also taken hostage at knife point by inmates on one occasion.
He died in 1972. I was born in 1972. I can't help but feel that this has worked out nicely.
I also attach a few items related to Brig. Gen. Waters. In the group photo, he is front left.
Happy Tuesday.
Stetson as I prepare to head out and see Willie tonight.
