Wowza ... what a gift!

I've been blessed by the generosity of our members as well. This one arrived yesterday from Bowen / @AbbaDatDeHat (I was able to sneak a peek at it over lunch as my wife was away -- I plan to re-gift this to her for Valentine's Day ... among other things of course ... Momma didn't raise no fool).

Still damp but I'm going to like it. I also reset the mule kick on the front crown a bit. Sand Peble has a bit of sage undertone that doesn't come out in the pics.

Keep yourself a bundled up in that snow, you are a sick boy. Cool Pilgrim, is it late 50s? I wonder how early the little "R" for registered trademark started showing up in logos? The Professor stated that on Dobbs (at least) it was 1972 and newer.

Thanks Mike. I've been wearing my coat in the office to ward off the chill.

I'm not sure about when Sears started using the "R" on its Pilgrim logos. I am sure that the initiation of the practice varied from company to company. It would be interesting to find out the earliest instances.

In any event... as for this one... the label shows its price point at $5.98. Based on the attached September 1958 ad, I suspect that it is from thenabouts. So, you seem right on with your guestimate as to vintage.

As far as I can tell, my hat looks just like the $5.98 "swagger" in the ad. And come to think of it... I do seem to conduct myself in an arrogant or superciliously pompous manner when I wear it. But that may not mean anything since I always act like that.

Thanks for all of the "be well!" wishes yesterday. Whatever I got... it ain't flu. I still feel crummy, but it could be exponentially crummier.

And we have some snow. It's not the sticking kind. But any of what Jim calls the White Death is better than none at all.
