Very nice. I wish I could find one with a 4" brim.Stetson Nutria Quality. From the bay a couple of weeks ago. Looked like silver belly from the seller’s pics. Turned out to this pleasant brown after cleaning.
The huge storm coming in from the Pacific is hitting today. Maybe an inch of rain. Wearing my trusty Stetson Royale Deluxe (generic designation, no model name) from 1956 to 1958 to brave the elements. This hat is light as a feather, paper thin felt that loves to be manipulated. First hat is from today, 1920s Stetson
Grey is from the other day, took my "daughter" out to the park for a little while. Hat is a 40s Dobbs cross country
Great hats to everyone, though i dont post frequent, do know i enjoy all of your postings. keep em comin'
Lotta great stuff this cold a.m.
I just finished a redo on this vintage Bradford. I didn't like the block shape when I did the first conversion. This second time around I took it apart again and redid it on a different but straight sided block. This second redo came out much better. Not quite the actual Stratoliner that I've always wanted but my version from a hat of the same vintage era is good enough for now. I'll have more pics in the Conversion Corral when the ol' back gets a little better and I can sit longer...
Nice tall crown with a 2 3/4 brim. I put a little more rake on it this time around. 4 3/4 at the pinch with a rake sloping to 4 inches in the back.
The felt is just phenomenal on this hat
Some Johnny Cash. The Sun years. Luther Perkins on the Fender Esquire.
Haven’t been wearing a lot of brimmed hats in the extreme cold and wind, but the gusts let up yesterday, making way for one of my bigger brims, taking somewhat of a cue from Jared a few days before. Stetson twenty five.
That one has so much style. Great hat!

I'm not usually a fan of leather hatbands, but this one looks very very good, Bob.View attachment 102278

I was asked about the height of the Germania hat yesterday (or friday; I forget). I checked and found that the perceived height is due to the center dent being quite deep. The sides of the hat are a good inch higher than the pinch. It seems to have been blocked fairly narrow too, which gives it more visual height as well. Anyway: here are the shots (both brim up and as a fedora).
