What a clean cool hat and color.

Thanks! What a clean cool hat and color.
Thanks 65!Great color and proportions. Really looks good.
Thank you kindly, Mike! I know we're supposed to hate the cold as we get old, but it's not happening for me... yet.
This morning it was so cold in our town that the local flasher was only giving a description!
Thanks Fruno!
Shirt is a Versace.
Hat date is from some sleuthifying and deductualization.
Maple leaf in the crest, post '52.
No O.P.S. sticker, latter half of '53 and on.
According to Jimmy the Lid's dating by price thread, Royals went from $10.50 to $10.95 in '56. From that I inferred that in '55, they were $10.50. Mine has a price of $10, so my date of ca.1954 gives me a half year wiggle room on both ends.
Elementary.
Love the color and pattern on that wool cap. Nice. Stay inside, wear the hat, but stay inside and warm.My hats tips towards all the brave folks wearing hats in the continued cold weather. A wool cap for me today.
Thanks for sharing. Stay cozy.
Best, Eric -
Man I love that Whippet! I think the shirt is nice too, just not in the same space (your body), nice look. Fashion warrior!Hey folks!
I'll play Whippet Wednesday with this ca.1954 offering.
Have a great day!

That stiffy is looking really clean and new John, I gotta get me one of those Jiffy machines.OK, decided to go with this Mossant bowler, as the previous color combo reminded me of some really bad tie-dye I saw once. And cannot ever unsee.
More praise for the Jiffy steamer...this is the heaviest and stiffest bowler I have. It had lots of...errm...character beaten into the crown. I got out some of the big dents but lots of little ones remained where the sides of the crown curved over into the top. Previous steamers I owned had little effect on the thick felt. 5 seconds in this turbo steam jet softened it enough to work out all but the tiniest of microdents and nanolumps. Big improvement!
Have a great day!

Great hat to keep the noggin from freezing Greg.Had no intention of leaving Casa de Bama today in light of the frigid weather but a late afternoon beer count indicated otherwise. Dorer bar 50 went along to keep my head warm.

Lovely shape and color Steve. That feather looks exotic, I think it would stay if I had this hat. The liner is superb!Hückel Weilheim "Chevreau" probably late 1950s and recent arrival.
Very wise of you to stay warm and refreshed under that Knox. Whatcha reading?Based on the forecast and complete lack of resources to cope with winter storms here, I am assuming that work will not happen tomorrow. So I'm treating tonight as a mid-week Friday and going out to chill with some coffee, WWII history and a Knox Madison Avenue.
Have happy times, everyone. View attachment 100688 View attachment 100689 View attachment 100690 View attachment 100691 View attachment 100692

The wind may be coming up and if I leave the confines of my yard I may have to find a good warm cap to wear.
