My hats tips towards all the brave folks wearing hats in the continued cold weather. A wool cap for me today.

Hey folks!
I'll play Whippet Wednesday with this ca.1954 offering.

LOL!
I think I found one of the few colors a green hat won't go with. In my defense, when I found the shirt thrifting yesterday it looked grey and black to my bad eyes. It wasn't till I saw it in the pics that I realized it's purple...:D

That should keep you warm while still looking cool, Michael.
Thanks steur. Keeping warm has moved up the priority list lately.

Great outfit, Michael. Longhairs are perfect for winter.
Thanks again steur. It would be truly perfect if it had furry earflaps.

Way to keep it furry and warm Michael. Love the color of that overcoat.
Thanks Red. The coat dates to between 1939 and 1949.

What a hat!I just love these furry long hairs.Perfect for cold days. You always look so good.
Thanks DOGMAN. Wish I had a few more long hairs. Especially with the way this winter is going now.

Thanks all,
Michael

OK, decided to go with this Mossant bowler, as the previous color combo reminded me of some really bad tie-dye I saw once. And cannot ever unsee.

More praise for the Jiffy steamer...this is the heaviest and stiffest bowler I have. It had lots of...errm...character beaten into the crown. I got out some of the big dents but lots of little ones remained where the sides of the crown curved over into the top. Previous steamers I owned had little effect on the thick felt. 5 seconds in this turbo steam jet softened it enough to work out all but the tiniest of microdents and nanolumps. Big improvement!
Have a great day!

Have a wonderful day

That's one of my favorite of yours Richard. Beautious.
Nice! The liner, like the owner, is askew.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Thanks, Jim. I'm not askew, I'm cattywampus.

Wicked Twenty-Five on your head today. Crease... superlative.
Super hat....but that liner in crooked is making me crazy....Hope you know I'm kidding...I think,no.I am
Thanks. Interestingly, when it came to me the liner was perfectly straight. I sent it off to have it professionally crazified.
Sweet Stetsonian Matt.

Sharp Bob.

Dandy Dobbs Richard.
Thanks Perry.
Classic looking Stetson there Matt. The color is just right. You have been promising snow for a few days now...time to produce!
Thanks Mike.

All is in order for the snow. We are under a blizzard warning with the possibility of up to a foot of snow. I don't recall ever having a blizzard warning since I have been here. People are completely freaked out. It's fun to watch. Almost time for a top down drive now.
That's a wonderful example of the Vita Felt Process, Matt!
Thanks Robert. I'm offended by your Whippet. Such a marvelous hat...
Prepping for the storm in an Art Fawcett felt made in "dove." It sports a 2-5/8" non-dimensional brim.

I really dig that hat. Does "non-dimensional" mean the same thing as "telescopic" in hat nomenclature?

Be safe in the storm. It's gonna be bonkers up there from what I've seen.
Beautiful, Matt!
Thanks Stefan.

How did you nail the year down?

Nice shirt.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Thanks Fruno!
Shirt is a Versace.:)
Hat date is from some sleuthifying and deductualization.
Maple leaf in the crest, post '52.
No O.P.S. sticker, latter half of '53 and on.
According to Jimmy the Lid's dating by price thread, Royals went from $10.50 to $10.95 in '56. From that I inferred that in '55, they were $10.50. Mine has a price of $10, so my date of ca.1954 gives me a half year wiggle room on both ends.
Elementary.:)
