Great hat for sure. What color binding will you go with? Have you got the toboggan waxed? Sounds like fun times with once in a decade snow.

Michael
Thanks Michael.

I'm generally a stickler for the original look and modify my hats only if absolutely necessary. So I will probably try to go with a similar shade.
Although, the color of the ribbon is kind of an intriguing idea, too.

Virginia Beach has no hills, so no toboggan [emoji20].
Might drag the boy behind the car on something though.

Enjoy.

Red; I have not found a copy of a early Stetson advertisement that accurately places it yet. The tags, box and markings place it 1930-40's. I have not seen another one on the fedora lounge.

The smaller brim, deep flange and unique edge treatment make it very unique on my hat rack.

Best, Eric -
This will become one of my favorites!! Love the ribbon and that deep flange on the brim is a real "Scoop"!

Ahhh Friday... welcome, you glorious day of days...

The meteorologicalistic prognosticatorists are predicting up to 12 inches of snow with the precipitation starting late tonight.

Folks are getting bat-guano crazy (but not me, I arrived at that station years ago). We only get snow like that once a decade or so. I'm excited... snow means doing LOTS of donuts in parking lots (with the top down, of course)!!! Yippee!

I'm going with the trusty old '40s Stetson Vita-Felt Premier homburg. I noticed this morning that all of my use of this one has led to some degradation to the brim binding [emoji20]. I foresee a road trip to Bob at Black Sheep for this one. View attachment 64461 View attachment 64462 View attachment 64463 View attachment 64464 View attachment 64465 View attachment 64466

May each of you have the bestestest Friday that has ever been.
Dang, Matt!! Where do you find your vitafelt homburgs?? The rust ribbon on this one looks absolutely stellar against that felt.

Lovely hat! I have a soft spot for velours...

Precioso el sombrero!!

Great hat and tie!!

Better with coat, but the cardigan is lovely. You sure know how to pose with style. Are all these clothes you've had for years or all newly bought I wonder?

Beauriful hat, love the contrasting colours, and gorgeous bow!

Great hat, love the ads and your superimposed composition!

Thank you, I appreciate it. As you know it's easier said than done, but I do try!

Thank you! :)

Man. I really miss the way the light looks in N.J. at this time of year. Even when I lived in the city, I used to take the Jersey Central out to Scotch Plains and then walk up to the Watchung Mountains in the snow. And only about a half hour from N.Y.

you are talking about pretty much exactly where I live
An artist friend who was from Belgium once went with me and pointed out that the light out there in the winter had a purplish tinge to it. I'd never really thought about it, but I realized he was right. This was right before we almost got busted in the Magic Forest.
