Wow, straw in december, no way we can do that here! It's a bit surreal seeing you in a straw hat and shirt in the sunshine against a bright blue sky with those bare trees behind you. Nice work on the hat again!

The reprieve from the season was, alas, short-lived and I ended up walking the home half of my daily walk shivering. But well worth being able to bust out a buntal in winter!

Everyone looking mighty fine today!!
My hat today. A black fur felt with asymmetrical crown and a wide upturned brim edge. It's my favorite hat and I made it ages ago. It's in two pieces, crown and brim blocked separately and stitched together. Faux leather trim. The hat blocks were bought new from a German block maker whose name I cannot remember right now (old age?) and who no longer is in business.

Is the brim on yours narrower than 2"? It looks like it's on the narrow side.

This is the last picture we took with the Pecan NW Hats fedora. A little rain, a little messing around with color filters and such. It doesn't yet show the tighter front pinch and the longer, somewhat wider side dents.

I'm pretty sure that's going to be my next color combo from Michael. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks Kuki. While I was out thrifting today I had a gentleman compliment me on the coat I was wearing. And then at the next thrift store, across the parking lot, he sort of apologized for bothering me and said he liked the whole outift and he should hire me to do his shopping for him. Ha ha.

I don't know the exact measurements but it is definitely in the Trilby range. I would have rather it came a little wider but I can still pull it off.

Today is a stunningly beautiful day. I rarely use the word gorgeous, but today would merit it.
It's flippin' gorgeous out.
So to take full advantage of a straw day in December, my WWII era Parabuntal that I finished from a hood some time ago and recently redone and with a pug I rescued from a ladies' hat I found in a thrift store last week.

But enough gabbing! I have to enjoy this gorgeous day some more!
