It's a chilly one here this morning. I'm always tired of the heat by the end of summer and looking forward to autumn weather, but then when it arrives I find I'm a tender flower. Ha ha.

I had to see what the Golden Pheasant velour looked like with this coat.

I'm pretty sure I like the pairing.

Matt : I would have been all over that straw helmet.

One of the best pairings of a coat and hat I've seen. I want both!

Michael, the coat and hat are made for each other. Lookin' great.

That helmet thingy is a 7 1/4 (if my feeble mind recalls correctly). If you want it, I'll go score it for you at lunch tomorrow. Frankly, if anybody here can do it, YOU are the man who can wear the hell out of that thing. Seriously, let me know.

Enjoy.

Unfortunately, I'm a 7. Or 6 7/8 or 7 1/8 depending on the hat. Have never found a 7 1/4 that wasn't too big. Bummer, but thanks for the offer. I still think you should jump on it. Wear it with a tie dye safari jacket.

I say it the french way : gro-grain.

Thanks. I've heard it both ways. Was never sure which was right.

Cold and blustery November day. 150th Anniversary Stetson Racine gets the call today.

Bummer for you. That stinks.

NOW... let's get something straight: the hat monkey is constantly on my back whispering "buy that one!" "And that one, too" and other such things. He doesn't need your help! In fact, he already has been working on me about that thing.

Damn it... I am now very worried that the monkey will force me to drive my car over there and buy that thing.

A POX UPON YOUR HOUSE EVIL HAT MONKEY!

Like Le-o-pard? ;)

Don't even think about wearing a hat.
110 km/h winds.
Parks closed and everyone on their toes for damaged roofs.

I was walking and I could have lifted my feet and flown to my shop.
Probably not without injuries :)
Excuse my sunday face.

The cold came to Virginia Beach last night, too. Because we are so close to the gulf stream, the cold generally gets moderated pretty well. So, we stayed in the high 30s last night.

This morning, headed out to mass under the Imperial Stetson homburg. It's another one of those hats that just fills me with child-like glee. The color is marvelous and the hat's "mood" changes remarkably in different lighting. The partial brim binding seems unusual to me. In short: I really dig this hat. As usual, too many pictures (narcissism [emoji6] and I like the various lighting effects). Sorry.

Don't ever apologize for that one. Beautiful hat and a favorite of mine.

I love a narrow brim binding on a homburg.
