We all keep repeating ourselves every time you post a lid, Jim. You are the hat bomb, man.

Bob, my avatar shows it on my head, but admittedly, not well. I'll see what I can do.

In the meantime, after work I went out to see the horses and ride a bit so I wore this.

It's a Stetson Roll Up, straw cowboy hat that my mother-in-law bought for me in Marble Falls, Texas about 7 years ago from a thrift shop for $1. It has seen hard service since I've had it but I really love that hat. It is cool and comfortable in hot weather, and I think has a certain lived in look.

This is a soft felt fedora which says it was made by Keens in Britain for Halle Brothers Co, a Cleveland, Ohio, Department Store. This hat was purchased on ebay for $15.50. I like the feel and fit and thought I got a bargain.

I hope you don't mind that I've added this to the Ohio hats thread. :)

THAT is the panama I want!!! FANTASTIC hat that looks really, really good on you. Where'd you get that one? Not a big fan of straw hats in general, but, MAN, that hat looks nice.

:arated: Definitely a head made for hats.

You guys are too kind. Many thanks for the nice comments -- they are much appreciated.

I think one of the great things about this thread is that it serves as a constant parade of great lids -- a place where you can re-post hats that may not have seen the "virtual" light of day for a while. Always informative, always plenty of great looks -- it never disappoints. :)

Cheers,
JtL

Sure you can. I have a couple. They are the nicer grade of cuenca, though.

I haven't seen optimo style crowns in cuencas with the brisa weave, but they may exist too for all I know.
I need the cheapo weave since the finer the weave the worse my extra long oval distorts the brim.:eusa_doh:
