Is that a new or older model? It looks really good on you. I like the Aerodynamic side curl.
metropd, The Alessandria is a newer model from Peter Bros. in Ft. Worth. Jimmy Pierce and I strolled over there after lunch today and I picked this one up on sale for $99.00. There are 2 moth nibbles (no holes) on the top of the crown and a few in the back under the brim. I purchased a Montecristo on sale as well. I'll post some pictures of their location and the other hat tomorrow. BTW, Great Picture!

Garrett, The moustache is in storage with the winter wardrobe. ;) :)

Lots of nice lids on here again today. Keep 'em comin', gentlemen.

I think Gene's Eagle is natural, no alterations other than steaming. I'm sure he'll chime in though. Great lid, isn't it?! :eusa_clap

I didn't do anything to it ... all the dimensions are still the same ... all I did was softened up the brim & gave it some attitude ... I did restitch the existing ribbon treatment back on because it was loose, but that was all [huh]

You're right Garrett; I didn't add, subtract or replace anything on this beauty. It's as it came except for some shaping and I had to re-sew the sweatband on but the leather's fine. Only troubling thing about this one is that before I took ownership the felt at the top front pinch had been worn to tissue thin. No doubt that on my watch it'll open up and be a hole. Oh well, I'll wear it anyway. Love this hat.

jp, you and your lady are looking fine! Great scenic shot!

TY, that is a wonderful color combo and coordinates so well with your other wear and accessories.

Hey Swoopy ...that is a pretty cool looking hat. I like the pin...
Have you seen the canvas scout hat that Stetson has out?
Yea but I've been thru a canvas hat or 2 in my Scouting hikes/canoe trips & keep coming back to a crusher or a beater felt. Lots go for those Outdoor Research (OR) sombreros with look bad but work well. Those & Tilly's. They just don't give me that swoop I crave! :D

I have a tilley that I wear in the summer sometimes and it's great for keeping the sun off and has good ventilation (definetely not a cold weather hat), but it feels like a kids hat compared to a good fur felt. It can't take more than a sprinkle without soaking through and any breeze and the brim flops all over the place and who wants a floppy brim in public?

I keep studying that cool photo of metropd. It's funny how the 'nonconformist' blinged out, tattooed, hipsters all blend together into one blob of conformity, whereas he stands out as someone with real personality and pizzazz.

ha ha that is funny how the nonconformist conform and the one person wearing the most classic and traditional style is the only person who doesn't conform :eusa_clap
