We had a squirrel that was hooked on joules! I watched him run into the wire on our low voltage wire time after time. He would bump it, shake, and eat away. That five miler I hooked onto my garden wire stopped him!

Thanks, R! What you call "humidity" in Arkansas, we call "Humdidity" in Michigan. pronounced "hum-did-it-ee", I guess. CAN"T BLOODY TYPE! If you want the truth.

I like that wide brim TY !

Hey V Mike, that lid looks like it can take whatever you might throw at it!

MKL, is that a Whippet? Its one sweet looking lid!

Mr Lucky, I have to say you are on the fast track to Douglasville. Every hat you have posted lately looks great!
Keep up the good work!!!

RBH,

Thanks for the kind words. No, it is not a Whippet. It was an old hat that I sent Art to rebuild. He did a wonderful job on it.

Here is what it looked like before:

MKL, you are forgiven for having a thin ribbon with a sweet bow treatment stripped and exiled to be replaced by an obese replacement.;) Other than that, all of you guys have posted terrific hats.!:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Thanks, RBH!

J.T., it's always fun wearing a hat and sportcoat when doing your shopping in a rural-area Wal-Mart. You get the strangest looks.

MKL, that was a heck of a transformation Art did on that hat! :eusa_clap

Douglas, the Week-Ender doesn't indicate anything regarding the felt, but it is a very thin felt and the hat is very light. One thing I hadn't noticed before is that there is a line of holes in the felt all the way around the crown about a half-inch up from the brim, between the sweatband and the ribbon. That struck me as rather odd.

Dean, great straw!

Wore the Batsakes Bros hat again this evening.

Cheers,
Tom

Dinerman, Steefel Brothers, you say. Very impressive.

Vegas Mike, How do you keep that great looking hat on your head while mountain climbing?

Josephine, You have contributed great looking variety to this thread. Please tell me you did some or all of the work on that pirate hat.

Mr. Lucky, I especially like your brim treatment.

deanglen, All you told us was straw. What is it, besides good looking?

AlanC, Wow, what a look! And you had the courage to wear brown with black. I like it.

MKL, That is one sweet transformation. Art sure does good work!

The straw hat is my abused and still kicking Borsalino. I put it through several re-shaping and ribbons. I think it hates me. But I'm okay with it. And afterall, it can't talk.

Thanks. :) Erm, I keep adding feathers to it each year, does that count? :/

Y'know, I actually haven't had much of a problem. It's shaped itself nicely to my head in a pretty short time, and fits like a glove. Only time I almost had it fall somewhere was when I laid on a rock to relax, and bumped the brim on the rock and knocked it off my melon.
