Took the dog for a walk and grabbed my Biltmore Western that I'm converting to a more classic fedora:

Crown looks a bit high....might look better with a wider ribbon.

Great selection of hats today.

Andy - lovely Borso.

Eric - great cap in a classic English pattern

Jaxwork - I can see the suitability for earmuffs!

Duck - Looks great.

Great White - nice progress on the conversion. I agree a wide ribbon would be great.

HistoryTeach - Nice Borso, no luck for me on a vintage hunt either.

A morning trip to Margate, a little along the coast. A quick visit to the Turner Gallery to see an exhibition of English Landscapes, followed by an unsuccessful wander around the slightly pricey vintage shops - lovely homburgs in 6 3/4" and lots of trachen hats in small sizes, but nothing beyond a 58. Very windy - even with jamming the Fed as low as it would go I felt in danger of losing it... :

A more industrious late afternoon successfully replacing the fan oven element. Why do they make the wiring so short?

Fits like a glove, feels like a glove. Love it.

Must reshape portuguese bunny brim. I don't like rain on my ears.

In preparation for guests this evening, I have a roast lamb on the outside barbecue. We eat a main meal at our home then head over to another of our party for desert and yet another for beverages and "late night eats." I have my vtg. Stetson Playboy ready to go outside with me each time I check the roast meat. This is certainly a classy hat today, as it was in it's day.

Alan, that looks like ice in the birdbath. My wife and I lived in central and western New York, and then spent 8 years in the Adirondacks. It was 25F at mid-day in Saranac Lake today when I checked. Very, very nice 'burg.

Definitely a classy hat, Eric.

It was a Dobbs Hanover Square this morning for me.
