Finally back to de-brief the Lounge on the weekend...

First, CONGRATS, JARED! If it was easy, everybody would have a Masters degree. Mazel tov, our friend! (And, yes, that hat from Gary White was the last NOS cav edge blank of that size.)
Welcome Mr. Bowling; fantastic post, sir.

The last few days of widely varied weather have presented plenty of hat wearing opportunities.

Saturday AM was chilly enough for a VS Lite beaver felt, judiciously accented (by Mr. Fawcett) with hand folded white silk puggary. Pendleton board shirt in a nod to Mr. S.B. Guy!

A later walk with a Dobbs Milan that seems to work with the Beach Boys color...

And as to the outcome of the Reader's Digest article.... We're ALL qualified in one way or another. But we knew that!

Hello, sirs. Lovely hats today everyone! RABowling, that is one fine looking hat, man! I love everything about it.

Today I wore my Peerless hat to church..

The trousers aren't that wide, the wind was blowing on them.

A nice display of felt and straw, Mr. hatsR. I can't decide what color shirt to wear every day. [huh] I usually just grab one out of the dark closet then select the pants and hat to match. And I can't get enough of those VT pics. Lovely place.

HB3--let me guess...about 85 degrees when you took the picture, warming to 95 by the afternoon? Nice look with the suit and the Peerless. Your neighborhood looks a lot like the neighborhood where some of my family live, but there are a lot of neighborhoods in Houston that look like that!

Hello, g.durand. Yes, it was hot out there but I always wear a jacket and tie to church.. Thankfully I wasn't exposed to the heat for very long and now I'm home where it's comfortable. And yes, a lot of neighborhoods are like that, it's a nice place to live, very calm and peaceful.

It's about 90 degrees this afternoon, what passes for hot here. Still, I went out for a bit in a newly acquired '50s Open Road. I wasn't out long enough to sweat, though. Don't want to wreck a pristine vintage hat.

Can't say enough about OSU. The process to move 10,000 students and their families around campus and into their new homes is incredibly well organized.

Even in the midst of the move-in pandemonium, there are a few quiet moments.

Lily is so ready. Donna, perhaps less so.

We took a slow, rambling ride home through local roads in central O-H-I-O. Stopped to take a walk in Medina, OH before rejoining the highway.

Stetson balibuntal was the only hat I took along for the ride.

Wonderful photos and hats over the weekend, Gentlemen!

Alan, an especially poignant set. I can see the complex emotions on your face, as well as Donna and Lily's. Will join you in this ritual next August...

Thank you, Alan. I was actually looking forward to your report with envy. These are wonderful, bittersweet times for you all. Great pics, happy faces!

Now begins the two week countdown for my eldest daughter's wedding. Also bittersweet. At least now she'll be off the payroll...!!?
And, like RBH, (Rusty) I did commission an appropriate new hat.

Thanks all for your kind comments, there are some seriously great looking hats being posted here, you all make me very envious. Now all I have to do is find myself a nice panama for our up coming hot season.
