Wandering in my VS Wanderer (silverbelly this morning) here in Minnesota. I headed out to find where the white tailed deer who browse our flower beds and garden hang during the day. I trucked around the lake and out into the local forest reserve. The transisions between the prairie, wooded and conifer zones are not clear divides. This is abundantly clear in my "neck of the woods. " It makes treking about interesting.

It took a long hike along cultured trails, foot trails and finally the deer trails to see the deer in their daylight haunts. A group of 5 female deer were out in a meadow area. I got close to one doe and her fawn to get some hat pics to share with you.

The deer coordinate beautifully with their enviornment.

It was hard to start the hike home, as the fields and woods were a pleasant Sunday morning escape.

Thanks for allowing me to share. Best, Eric -

Great photos Eric. And now I know which VS I want to purchase. It's exactly what I was thinking of - though I had no idea someone already had one. I hope you don't mind if I ask for one that looks like yours - it's just a fantastic looking fedora.

g.durand, chepstow, DJH, thanks guys I really appreciate your concerns. I'm doing better now. It's just something I'm going to have to watch and take care of by drinking lots of water and eating properly. I hope my experience with this will cause others to be aware of their colon health...I can tell you that this stuff is nothing to mess with and can be life threatening as it was in my case...

Good afternoon Gents! You guys look great as usual! Chepstow, you always look good in whatever hat you wear my friend! Orangegrad, I'm lovin' the Squatter my friend! I'd love mine too if it weren't Black...Wanna trade?! ;) job, now there's two real classy looking guys!

For me on this beautiful afternoon in Central Ohio I'm wearing a cheap woolie that I've been experimenting with. I attempted to reblock and recrease it. I used a paint can to square it up some and then I changed the crease in it. The crown isn't as tall and the brim isn't as wide as I prefer but it came out okay and the crease holds pretty nicely...

TJ - the Squatter is a great hat. I now have mine on my head after cleaning up following the morning hike. It's worth saving up for - and Trudi at Hatsdirect will help you pick the right size. I'm thinking your noggin may be a tad larger than my size 56.

Andy; Thanks for the compliment sir. Inspired copy - Absoluetly! The hat rocks!! I am flattered, but honestly my initial curiousity was piqued to the Stetson Wanderer hats owned and discussions by Jimmy The Lid, GTDean and RBH on this forum. IMO, the lines and dimensions of the hat make it a perfect hat to walk the zone between city/woods.

I am not the only Minnesotas native enjoying the summer as evidenced in the pics below.

I'm actually a 7 1/8 LO and a regular 57 would still be too tight, so hatsdirect told me that I would need to order a 58, (which is a bit loose on me), and that the sweat would eventually shrink to my size...It would just be a whole lot easier if today's hat manufacturers would just make LO sizes like they used to back in the day.

This morning - the wrong side of the tracks while taking our doggies on one of our local walks. They like it when we get to this point because they know they are only about 5 minutes from cooling off in the Merrimack River. The Akubra Tablelands is getting a lot of use on these occasions

A little later, wearing a 20's/30's 8-panel cap - previously owned by Lounge member Baron Kurtz.
