It has arrived but other than giving it a once over, I've had no time. It measures 3-3/8 x 6-1/4 Open Crown, so a little bigger than I thought. And the liner is an early stencil, not the embroidered Last Drop.

Hope to get more involved with it tomorrow.
So, probably late sixties, early seventies. A lot of potential with those hats! Good color, looking forward to the makeover.

The stenciled Last Drop liner, the size tag, the 6-cord ribbon, & the fact the store it was sold from closed in July 1961 makes me think ~1960 would be pretty accurate.
That 6 cord ribbon does look late fifties, early sixties. Cool that you are able to narrow it down by the store.

Waiting on this Matador furfelt fedora.
Don’t know anything about the brand Matador but really like how it looks.
It’s in color 7015 (slate grey)
Anyone here know anything about the brand?

I couldn't find any reference to a Matador hat in a Google/lounge search. Lots of Matador/bull references, go figure. It will be interesting to see the clues under the sweat band on this one. My guess it was another "Jobber" brand out of Danbury CT from the mid to late 50s. Not a store brand probably, the logo would reflect that. Another mystery hat that will remain unsolved. Nice lines.

I was mistaken...……..the Akubra arrived today. Out of the box, not all that true to size but I remember my other Akubras were the same. After adding the size spacer, it's OK. Color was spot on for my choice. Shaping begins, working on the crown now. Advice....I've shaped the crown the way I prefer it to be, now, do I steam it to keep that shape? The same for the brim?

Cheers
