I'm ordering this hat. I'll try anything once. Has anyone heard of Steven Land Hats? Color is beautiful.

The color is nice. Too bad, they don't show photos of the lining and sweatband.
They claim it's an Australian wool with beaver fur finish; amount of beaver ?
I would just like to point out, that for 79$ you might be able to find a better quality vintage hat.
Maybe hard to find in that particular color and style.

For $79 I will try one. I don't really go by X rating on fur. It is all a bunch of sales gimmicks as far as i'm concerned. I have some wool hats that are better than my furs. It has a 2.25 snap brim that is perfect for me. If it is bad I will set it on the shelf for looks.:):):)

This is the best I could find with lining and band.

This is not my first Akubra, I've had four before but this is my first Akubra Fedora(Federation IV Deluxe (Open Crown). Ordered today, so now I wait patiently for it's arrival. Any one have a time for delivery experience? A week/two weeks/longer ??? Seems to get a "Heritage Fawn" I had to go down under. I had a Banjo Patterson years ago in Heritage Fawn.

For the record...my Newsboys/Peaky Blinders haven't yet taken a backseat. :D

I've had one arrive in as soon as four days, but they've usually taken about a week more or less. That being said, it's currently Saturday in Australia and Australia Post doesn't operate on Saturdays and/or Sundays so your hat will sit immobile today and tomorrow. Also, I'm on the west coast of the continental U.S. so it might take an extra day or three to get to Illinois.

Regardless of color and grade the Fed IV is exclusive to Hats Direct/The Hattery, so unless you buy one used you'd have to go down under anyway.

Thanks for that undated info. I couldn't remember how long it took to get my other Akubras, it's been awhile.

I spent three hours deciding...…….on the IV Deluxe, it had the raw edge that I like so well.

Another project/conversion hat. It’s a 1906 nutria hand built by John Stetson himself. Forgive the seller’s poor photo quality.

Or it could be a brown 1970s 4X; either way it’s a priceless piece of history.

I would go with the 1970. Seems like I had a band like that in the 70's. We loved our beads and ostrich feathers.:):):)o_Oo_O

Mrs. Stetson would crochet those hat bands as she sat by the fire. It has pride of place in my home, but if someone wanted to trade a pristine 1962 Ferrari GT 250 California I might consider it.

Two Dobbs. Or it least, I think the grey one is also a Dobbs. It was found without a liner, but it has the same sweatband markings.
They are 7 1/8 LO, but I was able to stretch several of Moon's 7 1/8 hats to a little over 7 1/4, so I am hoping I can also stretch these.

Great finds! I can’t tell you how glad I am that we aren’t the same size and in competitive for the same hats ;)
